"I AIN'T GOT NO FIGHT IN ME
IN THIS WHOLE DAMN WORLD"

. . .

Clara  Cullen  found  herself in the drivers seat of her black vintage car with Isabella Swan sitting directly beside her in the passenger seat. To anyone else this would be surprising, the Cullen's didn't speak, let alone visit with an outsider. But Bella wouldn't be considered an outsider any longer, she would be considered part of the family. That was the way this worked, Bella had the capability and power of ending the Cullen's, literally. So to make everything workout, to make everyone happy, they would all get alone. Carlisle made that very clear.

She enjoyed Bella's company, although only a few minutes had passed between the two. But she found Bella calming and sweet, she could tell how much she loved Edward. It was a certain feeling she got when the vampire was around her. It made her decision to stand by Edward more comforting.

"Bella don't be nervous, I can hear your heart beat." Clara said rubbing the frail human's arm softly. "We don't need you having a heart attack."

Clara stepped up and promised to take Bella to school while Edward was away hunting. He had made his sister guarantee Bella's safety. He wasn't necessarily happy to be leaving Forks for a few hours, but he was worried for the human girls well being. He trusted Clara and he knew she would never hurt her. Edward was more dangerous for the human girl while he was hungry. The bronze haired boy made it a new habit to go hunting every few days, he didn't want Bella in danger.

"Sorry, I'm just not used to being around you guys. You're just so beautiful." Bella mumbled shyly, her cheeks turning rosey from the embarrassment.

"We may look beautiful on the outside but it doesn't always match the inside." Clara mumbled, realizing she sounded a lot more like her older brother than she liked. "Just don't get to comfortable around us, we are still dangerous."

The car went silent for a moment, Bella's heart beat being the only sound filling Clara's ears. Clara tightened her jaw out of habit, feeling slightly overwhelmed with Bella's scent being so close to her.

"But you guys aren't bad, at least from my understanding." Bella whispered shuffling her heavy book bag off her lap and beside her booted feet. "Edward explained and I understand but I can't help but notice that you both are very modest. You haven't touched Human blood yet you seem to think you're dangerous and maybe even a villain."

The vampire clicked her tongue to the top of her mouth slowly, trying to form the right words. She didn't want to scare the poor girl off, but she couldn't just ignore the conversation at hand either. She wasn't Edward, she faced her battle head on.

"I can't speak for the rest of my family so to speak. But I was raised differently from Edward, Esme, Emmett and Rosalie. They were fortunate enough to have a protector and an influencer; to have Carlisle push them in the best and right direction." Clara's voice sounded so young and pure, it broke Bella's heart. The red head sounded broken but her facial expression said differently. But that was what most vampires looked like, they rarely felt emotion. And when they did it was different from any human. "It was hell, being this new kind of creature that I didn't entirely understand. For the longest time I thought the worst part was him, I blamed my pain on everything he got me to do. But I realized the hardest part was losing my humanity and accepting it."

"But that's not something that you can lose forever, you can work to get it back and it looks like you've already done that." Bella said, her doe eyes looking into Clara's soul; atleast that's what it felt like.

Clara let out a giggle, the sound dancing around the car beautifully. The red heads hands stayed firmly on the steering wheel, her eyes never leaving the road in front of her. "Even now it's not the same and I don't know if I'll ever get it back. But I'm trying and I will continue to search for it. But I can't help but blame my loss of humanity on my mistakes. Bella I'm not a hero, human blood changed me and I don't think I'll ever be a good person. No matter how hard I try, the lives that could have been, stop me and will continue to haunt me forever."

"Human blood.. as in-" Bella whispered her eyes swelling open. Clara could feel a slight panic come to Bella's emotions. It was rarely there but she could still feel it. The panic came with many other emotions; curiosity, pity, sadness.

"I didn't know their was any other way, it was so long ago. Long before I met my saviours, my family. But I was raised on it, I was raised on the hunt and the high. And for a while it was addicting and it masked my real emotions. It masked the pity I felt for the dead and the future deaths that I would cause." The vampire found herself in a trance, she hadn't ever spoken to openly about her blood lust. About her past blood lust at least. "But now- human blood isn't even an option. I will never be the cause of anyone's death, not even to keep myself alive."

"You aren't what I expected-" Bella said as she grabbed her bag and placed it in front of her. Clara silently parked in the usual parking spot, finding Emmett and Jasper waiting for the girl patiently. "Edward talked about me being his own personal heroin. And I couldn't really picture that, you know the whole drug thing. But I see it now. I can see that struggle in your eyes and I can see how strong you really are. I'm the drug- so to speak and you haven't indulged in it. Not even when you're at your height of needing a fix."

"Bella I'm not strong-" Clara said shakily. Her small hands leaving the stiff steering wheel and falling onto her lap.

"When I met you- when I see you in the hallways and even how Edward describes you; I picture this girl that had an easy life. A perfect girl that everyone wants to be and I was envious of that but I see it now. I see that you're even stronger than I ever expected, you're even braver than I'll ever be. And hearing this, makes me realize how perfect you really are. No matter how hard your life was before, you've over come it and you've defeated it. And that's quite amazing."

The two girls, both very different from one another, looked to each other in wonder. Both just having an amazing conversation for their first time alone. Clara was no longer guilty of her mistakes and that was all because of one human girl.

The human girl that stole her bothers heart.
