"AND ONCE THE WATER STARTS TO RISE
AND HEAVEN'S OUT OF SIGHT
SHE'LL WANT THE DEVIL ON HER TEAM"

. . .

THE BURNING was the absolute worst pain Clara had ever felt in her entire life, it had made every sprained foot, bruised toe, and scraped knee, so small. Every infliction in her short human life, would never compare to the pain she felt when she was changing.

Clara never sympathized over the loss of her humanity nor had she thought about it much. It happened over a hundred years ago, dying so young had killed her innocence and purity. She had lost her entire life, everything she worked hard for. To simply possess immortality, even if she never asked for.

She found love. Love-- poisonous and demanding. The only descriptive words she could use for the term. She found herself falling in love with a man, the Devil in her eyes. He was created to destroy her entire existence. Something up in the sky decided she was too selfish, too self indulgent. So, the devil was drawn into her life to destroy everything she loved.

The only thing she had ever cherished with her entire being. Her humanity.

He was absolutely beautiful. His skin pale as the moon, his eyes a deep crimson. An immortal who claimed humans as his own, and she was his next victim. He wanted the beautiful red headed girl to be his latest toy, his girl.

"I don't think anyone goes by Edward anymore, maybe you should change it up.. I'm sure Eddy would suffice." Clara said poking fun at her drab brother. "We need to be more modern- more hip."

"No not happening." He grumbled annoyingly through his pearly whites. Clara was used to her uptight brother and his constant flurry of emotions. One minute he was joking around with his baby sister and the next he was building his walls right back up.

"As the humans like to say 'you're such a bore', you know that?"

"That's what I always say." Emmett added overhearing the conversation, his laughter booming directly behind Clara. Clara looked at the strong boy and rolled her dark eyes at him. Emmett loved making fun of Edward.

"Have I ever mentioned how boring Forks is-" Clara muttered, observing the bland landscape, dark sky, and drabby people. She was tired of this earth, exhausted of pretending to be something she wasn't. She wanted a life, she didn't want to hide. She was tired of the quiet, cloudy small towns. She wanted more than what this town could ever offer.

She never had more. She was sheltered her entire newborn life and when she was recused by Carlisle, she blended with the family. She lived by their rules. She didn't ask for immortality, but she wouldn't leave her beloved family behind.

"Why are you always talking?" Edward grumbled clearly annoyed with the topic of conversation. Edward was a sour man, he believed he was damned to hell and nothing would change that. And even if that was so, Clara was undecided by it. She had done some bad things in her existence, but everyone has. Even the humans that pray to their god every night, everyone sins sometimes. But that shouldn't mean you're damned to hell because of it.

"Someone's in a bad mood- woke up on the wrong side of the bed again?"

"Clara- not today."

"You're supposed to love me and accept me for who I am, even if I'm super annoying, now deal with it." The red head said bumping him with a strong shoulder, using a bit of her vampire strength. Her brother was in a bad mood today, Emmet had interrupted his reading time to talk about some hockey game. Jasper and Carlisle were out and unfortunately, Edward was the only one that he could talk to, clearly Edward didn't want that.
