“Harry, that’s brilliant!” Liam exclaimed after Harry finished telling us his plan. “But, I don’t think we can pull it off. I mean maybe, but don’t you think Paul’s too smart for that?”

“Oh, it’s easy. Paul- with now doubt is already searching for us, so we just gotta disguise him. We just get Niall to take baby Liam out of here, and bring Brooke with him too. Paul will over-look him if he thinks he’s just a dad. He’s just gotta take his hat off or something…” Harry rambled, musing.

I couldn’t believe it; Harry’s strategy might just be so crazy that it’ll actually work. The plan was to get Niall to link arms with me and take me out to my car, making him look like just another guy with his family. Then we could get him to take control of Liam’s stroller, (have me blame that I can’t roll it due to my elbow) and get Brooke to walk super close to him, interacting with him like he was her brother.

Then, when he walks me out to my car I’ll ask him if he and the boys could hang out tonight at my place, and that he could ride with me. I’ll assure him that I already asked the boys about it and they agreed they would come and find their own ride there.

By then they would’ve missed their flight to New York, and would have to wait a couple of days until Paul could secure another flight. It was brilliant and full proof. That is, unless Paul found the boys before we could sneak out of the mall, and chances were I’d probably never see them again if that happened.

However, we couldn’t discuss it any further because just then Niall showed up with a two bags brimming with ice cream tubs.

“Sorry,” he said apologetically, “the girl at the counter recognized me and gave me all of this free ice cream. She even wrote her Twitter name on all of these tubs. I promised her I would follow her if she promised not to rat out that I was still here, and she agreed. Weird, right?”

No, actually that wasn’t weird at all. . . I probably would’ve done the same thing if I was working and Niall Horan asked for ice cream.

“Yeaaah . . . totally weird,” I said, glancing at Harry as he gave a slight nod. The plan was now in motion.

I faked a yawn and stretched my arms into a great sweeping arch. “Alright, I think it’s time for me to go home and get these kids to bed… I guess I gotta go find Brooke and Louis first though. Will you walk with me Niall? Just put the ice cream in the stroller I guess.”

“Uh, sure,” Niall agreed, blushing as he placed one bag of ice cream on the table and one in the stroller.

Liam was already secured in so I started to fake push it, but winced, acting like it had to much pressure to put on my elbow.

“Here, lemme take it,” Niall said as he reached to take the stroller.

“No, no, I got it. Thanks though,” I smiled at him, seeing Harry’s disbelieving face in my peripheral.

“No, Ava, I insist. I don’t want ya to injure your elbow any more than ya have.” Niall said stubbornly.

Harry’s face changed again, this time into a knowing one as I let Niall take control of the stroller. I casually linked my right arm through his left – no protest from Niall, just another blush – as I turned around to wink at the remaining three boys.

“Wow. She’s good,” I faintly heard Harry whisper to Liam and Zayn as Niall and I walked away from the table.

I found Louis and Brooke still in Toy Land playing with huge stuffed unicorns.
