Interview with swiftspromise

What inspires you to be a writer?

Reading has always been a part of my life.

I fell in love early on with how writers crafted words to show people's flaws and strengths;

how they can tell someone's story by using words in a certain way.

I guess somewhere along the way I was inspired to write my own work.

How long have you been on Wattpad?

I've been on Wattpad since August 2013

When did you started writing?

I started writing whenever we were given some proper creative writing activities at school,

I would have been around nine or ten.

I loved it and have never stopped writing since.

What book are you currently working on?

I'm working on two books at the moment, The Replacement and Saving Karlie.

The Replacement: Taylor is overwhelmed by her high profile status and seeks a way to start over a live what she believes to be a normal life.

She stumbles across Eva Collins and they begin to form a plan.

Eva has a dark past and desperately wants an escape route so whenever she's offered the life of Taylor Swift, there's no turning back.

Although identical, the two girls could not be more different. Is their plan really bulletproof?

Saving Karlie: When Taylor Swift meets a fan at Club Red, she never expected what was to come next.

Taylor always had a plan: Fall in love, get married and have kids.

But when love is a loss for Taylor and fifteen year old Karlie gets thrown into the mix, something gravitates Taylor towards her.

The more Taylor finds out about Karlie, the more determined she is to make sure that Karlie is safe.

We all know that Taylor Swift goes to extraordinary lengths for her fans, but is this permanent and bold move too far?

The Replacement has 8.9K reads

Saving Karlie is almost at 1K reads.

What inspired you to write that story?

I was inspired to write The Replacement after seeing a video of Taylor walking down the street.

Instead of having the focus just on Taylor, the cameraman also captured the swarm of other cameramen around her.

It was crazy.

I began to wonder what she would do if she ever wanted to give up her celebrity life and that's where my inspiration came from.

Saving Karlie was a bit impulse.

I'm not really sure how it came about.

I created Karlie in my head and then began to think 'What would Taylor do in this situation?'

As Karlie's character formed in my head, so did the plot for Saving Karlie.

Advice you want to give to the people here on Wattpad?

My best advice is to not write for someone else.

If you are not enjoying what you are doing, then why are you doing it?

Write things that you enjoy.

For example if you love romance novels and you hate horror novels, why are you writing a horror novel?

If you lose sight of what you love, then this all gets a little pointless.
