sorry don't bother reading this, gonna delete it come midnight, it's a project of mine.
The four men walked into the diner, oblivious to the excitement and chatter around them as they picked out their seats by the counter. The tallest one, the one with the mane of unruly curls, gestured for the waitress.
"Hey, we'd like to order."
"Sure. How may I help y -"
Here, the waitress - who was a girl of about eighteen, with a pale, pretty face and dark hair - paused, her features rearranging into a rather awestruck smile. Her lips were slightly apart, and the hand that had been busy wiping dust off the glass she was holding stilled.
"You - you're -"
The rakish, boyish one winked. His hair was spiky, carefully styled into something that looked like a quiff and an emo sweep. His warm brown eyes were circled with eyeliner. Behold, the Emo Lord.
"You're Fall Out Boy," the girl whispered in a sigh, eyes glazing over.
"Yeah." The one with long, wavy brown hair peered at her behind his specs. "D'you have something to eat? Anything that isn't meat-related?"
The poor girl could barely breathe, let alone respond.
"Ohmygosh, ohmygosh," she murmured, excitement coloring in her pale face.
"Don't stress yourself out," the quiet one with fair hair and sideburns told her kindly, smiling. He was wearing a hat - with the word BINGO printed in red on it - and this he removed, running his fingers through his silky hair.
"Oh my gosh." Realizing that she was still staring at them in open-mouthed glee, she abruptly drew her eyes away and focused on polishing the glass in her hand to perfection. "Sorry - I, um...what would you like to drink? Or eat?" she added a little uncertainly, glancing at the one with glasses as she spoke.
"Pizza," the Emo Lord promptly said, sitting a little straighter in his stool.
The other three men groaned in unison.
"Pete, we've been eating pizza for the past week," the one with sideburns complained.
"Yeah, dude, I can't take another slice - I'll explode," Afro agreed.
"It's not really healthy, either," Specs commented in a mild voice.
"You guys stink," Emo said conversationally, and picked up the menu in front of him. "Fine...one Fatburger, please."
"Tea," Sideburns piped up.
"Mushroom ravioli," Afro said. "And a Coke."
"Tofu burger," Specs said. "Coffee."
The waitress bustled around, cooking up their orders, serving them their drinks.
After awhile they were done. Emo handed her a fifty and told her to keep the change, dropping another her slow wink.
"T-thanks," she stuttered, stunned.
The four men got up to leave.
"Wait!"
They turned, eyebrows raised curiosly.
"Why...why are you guys dressed as animals?"
The four glanced down at the animal costumes they had on, and shrugged.
"We're a weird band," Patrick Stump said, and the other three agreed.
"Oh...okay." The girl smiled. "Bye, Patrick, Pete, Joe, Andy. It was nice getting to meet you in person!"
They said their farewells and left the diner, still oblivious to the talk that was surrounding them like a lover's embrace.
"Fall Out Boy," she mused, shaking her head. "You guys are so weird."
