-Hey! Fireworks are just MUCH more fun to play with when you have new friends.

For once, Martel kept her mouth shut. The band of chimeras fled the scene, Dolcetto switching with Roa who was now carrying Kota. Looking back over the ox's shoulders, the snow leopard would forever remember a movie clip he saw while seeking into a theater; the victors walking away from a fight with no care or scratches, leaving flames in their wake. He sighed, allowing his eyes to close as he let the exhaustion creep in...

-----------------------------------------------------------( Time skip)------------------------------------------------------

...and sure enough, a yell woke him up.

-AGAIN?!? That's the 5th time already!

-Dolce. Quit your yapping. More run, less talk.

-Then stop using me as stairs!

When Kota awoke, the gang had already scattered into smaller groups and were using different routs back to the bar. Of course, being held by Roa, Kota was going to be stuck with darting through alleyways and climbing roofs. With a sigh, he steeled himself, his small whisper alerting the ox-man that his cargo was conscious.

-Put me down, please.

As Roa complied, Dolcetto and Martel darted into view, hands reaching out to help steady him. Kota weakly swatted them away.

-I'm fine.

He took two shaky steps, then wobbled. Dolcetto, being the most worried of the three arched an eyebrow, hand still extended.

-You sure, kid? You don't look so- Whoa there!

Kota fell to his knees, hand on mouth.

I've been doing that too much lately.

Hands wrapped around his shoulders in an instant, keeping his frail frame from tipping into the houses' dark, tiled roof.

-Don't pass out, kid." Martel drawled "If you fall, I'm not catching you."

-That's 'cause your arm's busted," the dog chimera scoffed.

-It's just a scratch!

-Oh yeah? Then why have I become stairs all of a sudden? Huh?

Just as she was about to retort, Roa cut in;

-Save your lovers quarrel another time.

-We are not together!

Roa, being the pacifist he is (and knowing the badly concealed truth), didn't bother continuing. Instead, he squatted beside their pale member putting a wide hand on the middle of his back, near his diaphragm area.

The latter leaned back into the warmth, steadying his eyesight and breath.

Why is the world so blurry?

He squeezed his eyes shut.

-Just give me a sec, would ya?

-Yeah, well we don't have a sec" Martel scoffed.

Catching his breath, the feline blinked up at the sky.

Wow, the stars sure are pretty tonight. Kota laughed breathlessly at the irony. Just as if nothing happened.

"Today could have been so much better if boss didn't like trains."

-Kid. You almost faint and the only thing you can say is that the boss loves trains too much?
