(This song makes me cry. Every. Time! 😢 So, I just had to use it again in one of my fanfics. Feel the despair. FEEEELLL IT!!!)

That occurred two nights ago. What happened then lead to the ever so evident black bruises to form on Kota's building confidence. But, having fallen asleep, Kota would not need to be reminded of them. Later, he considered it a relief. No one would need to worry about him.

Sadly, he wouldn't know how much he was being worried about. Not just by Dolcetto, Ulchi, Martel and Roa, but by the entire group.

After storming out of the bar, Greed hadn't come back. Everyone was left to worry as no one knew what was happening, many tipsy and willing to gossip. The whispering started. Some heard just the yelling. Others saw Ulchi pick Kota up and take him away. Some had passed out at around the point where Greed was walking across the room and were woken up by the door slamming open on its hinges. But more importantly, everyone saw the cold fury in Greed's eyes as he turned to slam the door. Even the most detached and drunk members caught themselves scared for the leopard.

Outside the room whispers, in the silence of the hall, a question was left hanging like a thick fog. Neither men would ask it out loud, for then what had happened would be confirmed and become real.

tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

Silence bore down on them.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Minutes ticked by, the old clock becoming louder by the minute.

TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK

The pressure was too great.

Greed cut the caution tape and asked the troubled guard.

-Is the kid alive?" He mumbled, voice slicing the air like a sword.

Still in shock, Dolcetto (who was squatting with his back leaning on the wall) only nodded, hearing two hearts thumping.

After the curt exchange, the sickly silence invaded the space once more.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

To the sound of ticking, both men were left heavy as reality fully sunk in.

The kid had had a panic attack.

Their youngest member hyperventilated NOT because of an intruder, or a fight or even a survival moment or a girl flirting with him. But because of a conversation. A conversation with the boss of all people. He had almost died because of it! Worst of all, when Dolcetto asked around, not a single one of the bloody crew knew WHY! What if they couldn't do nothing? What if Martel wasn't there? What if he had-

Dolcetto shivered.

No.

He focused on the heart beats.

It didn't happen. He's ok. The kid's ok.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

Tearing his gaze from the clock, Dolcetto forced it in the boss's direction. When he did, he noticed that Greed wasn't faring any better than him. Though, the boss hid it a great deal more professionally. Only his extreme pin-point focus on the unopened door gave him away. Greed was glaring daggers as if it had cursed him to give up his worth.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock

The dog chimera gritted his teeth. Dam. They weren't doing anything except wallowing in 'what-if's'. Who knew a teenager could do this to the boss. *inhailed*
