Pups and Their Origins

Skye

High up on a plane, Ryder, his family, and pups were excited. Their family vacation had officially begun. Chase and Marshall were the most excited, almost.

"I thought you said we were going to the mountains?" Asked a shaking Marshall from underneath his owner's seat.

"Yes, we are. What are you worried about, Marshall?" He asked in return.

"I just really, really hate flying, it always makes me feel sick."

After a short time, and frequent doggie-bag uses for Marshall, they arrived at the mountain's camp area; more specifically, a very high one. Marshall suggested he stay and watch the campsite while the rest went for a hike. Ryder assertively told him he'd be fine. Soon the group was walking up the trail, when they suddenly heard the sound of both screeching and whimpering.

"Look!" Shouted Chase. "Isn't that a puppy being carried off by that eagle?"

Sure enough, a small dog was held in the talons of the predatory bird. Quickly, Ryder came up with a plan to rescue it. They would place food on the ground and take the pup when the eagle came to eat. Amd, luckily, the plan worked perfectly.

"Are you all right, little puppy?" Ryder asked as he and his mother slowly approached her.

"N-no." She said between sobs. "T-that mean b-bird (sniffle) h-hurt my b-back." She said, pointing to a scratched and bleeding back.

"A-and.... a-and... and i-it killed my MOMMY! Waaaah!" She cried.

Ryder's mom cradled the puppy in her arms. "There, there. Don't you worry, we'll take care of you. Poor little puppy."

"What's your name, pup?" Ryder asked.

"I-I don't t-think I have o-one." She stuttered.

"Well, she did kinda fall from the sky, so maybe her name should be Skye?" Chase said.

"That's an excellent idea, Chase." Ryder said. "What do you think, Skye? Is it a good fit?"

"Y-yes, it is. Thank y-you, (sniffle) t-thank you all."
