"I wanna take you.." Cameron said licking his lips.
"Take me out, when?" I said grinning.
"You got work tomorrow?" He asked.
"Me? Not on a Tuesday, no. Where are you even gonna take me, Cameron?" I raised my brow.
"Out. Somewhere." He smiled showing his set of white teeth.
"Hm...okay..?" I raised a brow.
He picked up a stack of money and placed it to his ear and I began laughing.
"Jaliyah!" Zaria yelled.
"Hold up...YES?!" I yelled back.
"You got a little girl waiting on yo' ass!" She said before I heard her heels clicking meaning that she was walking away.
"Look, I'll call you later." I rolled my eyes.
"A'ight. Peace.".
I placed my phone into my back pocket and left the stock cupboard. Zaria narrowed her eyes at me then walked to my station where I was sitting the girl down on the chair.
"What were you doing in there?" She placed her hands on her hip.
"I was on the phone, Z." I combed the girls hair.
"For an hour?".
"It was my lunch break, why are you stressing?" I furrowed my brows.
"If I find out that you're talking to a boy, Imma beat your ass, I mean it." She pursed her lips and walked off.
I made a face and the little girl started laughing. I laughed too before starting on her hair. She was my last customer and I was ready to go house hunting. My phone rang and I stopped midway to answer.
"Hello?" I answered using my shoulder to support it whilst I continued doing her hair.
I seriously looked like a mother doing her daughters hair.
"Wassup, Li?" I heard Cameron's voice.
"Cameron? I thought I told you—." He cut me off.
"I wanted to talk to you. I'm bored.".
"I'm doing somebody's hair. Can't you wait?" I bit the inside of my cheeks.
"Nah, I wanna talk to you.".
I smiled to myself, "I can't talk right now. How about you come pick me up from Starbucks? I need to go house hunting.".
The only reason why I wanted him to pick me up from Starbucks is because I didn't want people seeing him picking me up. They'd start assuming that he's my boyfriend and they'll probably tell my mom. Also, I know for a fact that most of the girls in here have slid into his DM's before. They'd probably start giving me the side eye and talking shit about me behind my damn back. I just haven't got the time for the drama right now, I really don't.
