As the birds on the edge of the balcony sang there sweet songs, I looked for any excuse I hadn't used already to escape the hell that has imprisoned me for as long as I can remember. After a while, I give up my quest to find the excuse, and decide that just accepting it and moving on is the best way to approach this dystopia. I leave the heaven that is my bed, already missing my pillow and duvet, and get dressed in all black, for that is the way I am able to silently express my utter grief. I walk towards my door and open it, greeted with the comforting smell of burned toast and cold instant coffee." Good morning, Lilith. Nice of you to finally show up." The familiar voice of Ava Thomas says while she hands me a piece of toast with strawberry jam on it. Ava is like a second mother to me, she lives with me and my mum as they own together the record shop that our apartment sits on top of." Well, if I had stayed any longer in bed mum would've dragged me to school in my underwear, and I don't need to add more fuel to hells fire anytime soon." I say and start to gluttonously eat the piece of toast as if it was my last meal." Don't be such a downer, Lilith. Sometimes I think you need to loosen up and smoke a joint once in a while." Ava says with a massive grin on her face." I don't think a forty year old hippie, wearing a tie dye shirt is a very reliable source for advise." I said to her, chuckling." Fair enough." She answer, while laughing hysterically. I finish my strawberry jam toast and look at the clock, 7:56, twenty four minutes until school starts, and the torture begins. I leave the kitchen, and enter my bathroom. I brush my teeth and try to untangle the mess that is my hair, finally giving up and leaving the bird's nest of a hairstyle still on top of my head. I leave the bathroom and apartment and walk down to my mum's and Ava's record shop. And admire the hills and hills of records and music discs that fills the shop. I exit the shop, and walk down the streets of the small town I inhabit, after a couple of minutes of walking down the foggy streets I stop at a street corner, waiting while I ponder if the undead will come eat my flesh at this moment, hidden by the thick fog surrounding me." Good morning Lilith! I totes love you all black outfit, it totes looks super happy!" A familiar voice shouts across the street, not caring who hears her. I look in the direction of the voice, seeing a green light radiating through the fog like a small lighthouse in the shape of a tiny teenage girl." Hey girlfrend! I totes love how you look like a giant neon green sticker. It's so in style!" I shout at the tiny lighthouse, while it runs at alarming speeds at me. At the last moments the lighthouse jumps, tackling me with such force I fall down on the cold, hard ground." As a certified boyfriend, I think I should be jealous that my girlfriend is tackling another man." The singing voice of Ash Harper says while he walks to us, with the same expression that got grumpy cat famous." Go to hell Ash Ketchum, Opera's MINE!" I say, while I trap Opera in my embrace."NOooo! I will never stop fighting for my sweet pears freedom!" Ash says as he strikes a pose which would make JoJo proud." And to get back it's pear, the Ketchum has struck a pose, hoping that it would scare the black hole to loosen it's grip." Alfred narrates as he walks up to us, behind him Pippi and Yara holding hands." Sup, bones, you still sick?" Opera asks, while hysterically laughing." Nope thanks God, if I was still sick I would miss our Danish exam." Alfred answers." Don't remind me Alfred!" Yara says as she sighs and fakes fainting." Stop being so annoying you're gonna pass, if not you will be punished as I have spent countless hours tutoring you on Danish." Pippi says, giggling. I check my watch, 8:06." We should go guys, only fourteen minutes until school starts." I say as I release Opera from my embrace and stand up." Finally, I am free!" Opera shouts as she dances a victory dance and jumps around." Well, we have to sprint, mister Arbeid will be pissed if we aren't there at least five minutes before class starts." Alfred says." Such a asshole." Yara says, as we sprint past the small houses populating the sides of the street.
