Chapter 9~~More Than This

--Peter's POV--

I replayed those lyrics in my head as I watched Ella dance with her mysterious guy. I don't know why it hurts seeing Ella with someone else, I mean I am still in love with her but she likes Derek and now it's this mysterious guy by the looks of it. Also she thinks that I still like Brittany which I don't anymore, well I never have.

I couldn't watch Ella and him anymore so I turned away and bumped into a girl who I recognized from my history class.

"Oh sorry. I didn't mean--" I stopped talking as I was caught speechless. I knew she was pretty but she looked beautiful tonight. She was wearing a black mask that made her blue eyes pop out even more.

"That's okay..hey it's Peter, right?" she asked with a smile.

"Uh yeah it is. I'm really bad at names, it starts with a K, right?" I asked nervously

"It's okay and yes it's Kat" she said with another smile.

"Right, you think I would know that because of history class" I said, I could feel myself starting to ramble on.

"Well we do have the biggest senior history class in the school" she stated.

"Good point" I agreed "So did you come with friends or a date?" I asked nervously.

"I came with friends" she said with a smile.

I blush slightly "would you like to dance?"

"Sure" she said with a smile.

I lead Kat to the dance floor.

I nervously slow dance with Kat. I haven't slow danced since the 7th grade dance.

I looked down at our feet to make sure I was stepping on her toes. As soon as I looked up at her, I stepped on her foot. I saw her face wince in pain, I immediately start apologizing.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to" I said.

"It's okay really. I just think we should take a break" She states.

"Good idea" I agree with her.

I lead her off the dance floor and help her sit down at one of the tables.

"I'll go and find some ice" I tell her.

"Okay, I'll be here" She says jokingly.

I laugh a little at her joke. I go to the front desk to see if they have any ice and a bag to put it in. The lady at the front desk gave me a washcloth and a bag full of bag. I take them and thanked her. I then went to put the ice of Kat's foot, I'm such an idiot for stepping on her foot.

As I walk over to her, she looks up from her phone and smiles at me. I feel myself smiling back and my cheeks slightly heating up with a blush.

"Here you go" I say as I place the washcloth and the bag of ice on her foot.

"Thank you" she says as she adjusts the bag on her foot.

"Again, I'm sorry for stepping on your foot" I say shyly.

"It's okay really. I know you didn't mean to do it." she says shyly.
