I shot straight up from the bed with my hands resting on my neck, as though I was protecting myself before the attack. Dark stood up looking around awkwardly.
"What the hell are you doing in here?! Were you watching me sleep?!" I whisper yelled, creeped out, but still alert from my nightmare.
"Shit.." He said under his breath when I sat up. "Uh, no! I just- I couldn't sleep- I didn't mean- I'm not a stalker, I promise- but- just- nevermind!" He spat out faster than I've ever heard anyone speak before and dashed out of the room. His eyes told a different story.
I looked over to the alarm clock on the night stand.
2:59 am.
Taking the time to actually catch my breath, I then sat up completely and swung my legs over the side of the bed. My chest hurt all over from the bullet wound, but my heart hurt the most.
I got up and slowly walked to the bathroom, stumbling from the pain in my chest. I made it there eventually and flicked on the light. I stopped my movements and stared at my neck. There, on my neck, was a mark of teeth. They looked like they were covered in a thick, black ink before they bit into my neck, as the deep endentions had a black, gooey substance dripping from them, but there was none of my blood; or any blood at all for that matter. My entire neck vertebrae hurt: as though I was hit by a truck.
Everywhere on my skin that there was the black substance, burned like the after shock of a tazzer. It had dripped all the way down to the bottom of Dark's shirt, which soaked it up. I quickly ran the water from the fosset and washed it off the best I could from my neck and the shirt. When I looked up from the sink to the mirror, there was no mark. No ink-like gel, nothing. I looked at my hands and they had nothing there; the shirt was just wet around the neck-hole from my frantic washing. Glancing at the sink, there was nothing but the water draining down, not a trace of the ink. I turned off the water and wiped my face and neck with the towel hanging from the rack beside the counter.
What the fuck just happened?
I looked up seeing Dark behind me. His eyes glowed the same cold (e/c) as the wolf's. After I blinked a few times, not believing my sight, his eyes were the same color as usual: just black.
The flash of the color reminded me about what the wolf said about trusting people.
"Are you about ready to leave?" He said in a grumpy voice. Why was he mad?
"Uhh, I guess. Where are my clothes?" I asked, cautious to not make him even more mad than he already was by doing anything.
"Okay then. Let's go." He said still grumpy.
He didn't answer my question.
I followed him out of the room to be met with Lilly trying to stay awake and Eva leaning against the wall of the hallway.
"Hey." I whispered.
"Hey." Lilly said.
"Why is he so grumpy?" I asked trying to make sure he didn't hear as he was in an other room getting ready himself.
"Probably because he got embarrassed when you woke up." Eva said, less grumpy than Dark, but still grumpy.
"How did you know he was in my room?" I asked genuinely curious.
"He woke me up when he stumped his toe headed down to your room. I think the whole house heard him curse. Well except for you apparently. Not to mention the whole house shake from how hard he hit it." She said rolling her eyes and smirking at his clumsiness.
I laughed as well, imagining just how hard he kicked the wall.
"Okay. Lets head out. Everyone hold onto me and someone else. Hold on tight. Losing someone in space isn't exactly on my to-do list."
