Life has been crazy, and I'm sorry I know you guys want me to update as much as possible but unfortunately writing has been the least of my priorities lately, so I'm going to give you guys a really good chapter! Don't be too pissed at me!

I leave Dalton behind, taking in this enormous, most ridiculous mansion. It's even larger than the house Dalton has that's near Blue River pack. This house, was his on steroids. Just who lived here? Yet, the Walker's Ball is meant for the celebration of alliances between packs and their Alphas. And if there is one thing I know, Alphas are wealthy. However, it is the ones that hold the most alliances - the most power - that have the most sufficient funds.

The house, er . . . mansion . . . is a pale tan color with dark auburn furnishings, large windows that sit rows and rows from one another. Four floors exactly. From what I knew, "parties" and "get-to-togethers", are held on the first floor. Who knows what kinds of secrets the fourth floor holds?

"There you are!"

I turn to see Natalie, holding her dress to reveal her converse as she runs to me with a relieved smile. I too could use some reassurance for the night. She came by my side, brushing her hair behind her thin shoulders.

"This is insane. Who needs this much house?" She asks with wide eyes. Others start to make their way up the steps and into the house, but we stay planted.

"There's more than one who, technically speaking."

Nat jumps, clutching her chest while Gavin smirks and puts his arm around her. She lets out an irritated growl. "Don't sneak up on me like that!"

He ignores her. "There are only five Alpha's that attend this ball, and all five use this house as a peaceful place to meet when necessary. Sometimes other Alpha's," He looks at me with a grin, "And Lunas, are invited, along with their so chosen packmates."

I snort. "So, are you saying that each of the Alphas contribute to keeping this mansion here?" Gavin nods and sighs. "It is the one thing that they can all split evenly. So that way-"

"No unequal dispersion of power among the Alphas. So no one has power over the other," Nat finishes for Gavin who purses his lips. She gasps and she begins to realize it's actually a brilliant idea. That way, should one not contribute it would make them lesser than the other Alphas, something that no werewolf in a position of power wants.

More people come forward and we realize we too should make our way to the mansion.

"Where's my douche of a brother?" Gavin asks. At the mention of Dalton, I feel my temperature rise, for more than one reason. I still haven't told Natalie about our intimate moments, and I'm still not over his inconsistency when it comes down to what it is he wants between the two of us.

"Let's just go inside," Nat offers, clearly noticing I'm in no mood to find nor discuss Dalton.

"Alright ladies, I'll be your escort for the night-"

Yet, Nat has already hooked her arm through mine and we've started walking, leaving Gavin to ramble to himself.

"Hey! Not cool!" He hollers as he catches up.

As we walk up the steps to see so many other packs, I find myself thinking about Blue River, wondering if they're safe. I doubt they're here.

"Are you thinking of them too?" Natalie whispers, tightening her arm around mine. I bite my lip.

"I need to know they're okay." She's about to respond, but we've made it inside, greeted by a large chandelier above us, and marble tile beneath us. The hallway nearly glistens, and although I find this much stuff pompous and almost annoying, I can't help but drink in all the richness around me. As we reach the end of the hall, I'm greeted by a young boy with a shaved head an earring. He can't be no more than eleven.
