"Hey Dark?" Anti called our from where he was lying on the couch in the living room.

It was finally the weekend, meaning that neither of the two males had work since they usually tried to ask for weekends off if they could so they could spend time together.

"Hm?" Dark replied from the kitchen where he was making coffee for the two, poking his head out to look at the green haired male.

"How do you feel about dogs?" Anti asked as he tilted his head back over the arm of the couch to look at Dark, causing strands of his hair to dangle down and touch the floor.

"I've always loved them, but my dad never let me get one when I was a kid since there was already so many people in the house." Dark admitted with a sigh of disappointment.

"We don't have to buy one now, but can we go look for a bit? Pleeeaaasse?" Anti begged.

Dark chuckled as he approached the couch and pressed a kiss to Anti's lips, playfully swatting at the ends of his hair that were brushing against their faces.

"Of course we can, I would love to." Dark answered with a smile, earning a wide grin from Anti.

"Yes!" Anti cheered as he scrambled off of the couch to get dressed, leaving Dark to finish making their coffee.

Once the pair were ready, Dark drove them down to the nearest pet shelter to look at dogs, both men equally excited as they walked inside.

"Hello? What can I do for you guys?" The woman behind the front desk asked as Dark and Anti entered.

"We're looking f-for a puppy that's fluffy, kind, and-d active." Dark listed off, stuttering a little as Anti nodding in agreement with the specifications.

"Follow me then, I'll show you two our selection of dogs here." The woman instructed before opening the door to the right of the desk.

Barks and howls echoed around Dark and Anti as they stepped in, most dogs pressed up against their cages to get closer to the pair as they walked down the hall.

"Aw, this one's cute." Anti gushed as he pointed at a puppy German Shepherd that was racing around their kennel.

Anti kneeled down in front of the metal wire door and reached a finger through, only for the dog to bite him.

"Ow!" Anti hissed as he retreated back, holding his bleeding finger in his hand as he glared at the dog.

"Sorry about that, Mayhem likes to play rough." The woman apologized, handing him a bandaid with an apologetic smile.

"You okay?" Dark asked worriedly as Anti bandaged himself up.

"I'm good." Anti assured him with a thumbs up before they continued looking.

"Ooh, they look cute." Dark remarked as he gestured to a golden retriever to the right of them.

"Sephora's already found a home, her owner is picking her up today." The woman told them.

"Oh, that's okay." Dark shrugged.

Soon they reached the end of the hall with no puppy for them found much to their disappointment.

"We'll come back later." Dark told the woman as he and Anti started to walk back towards the entrance.

"Wait, what about them?" Anti spoke up as he knelt by a different cage.

Inside was a black lab that was curled up in the corner, its back riding and falling with each breath it took.

"Yeah, he's been here since birth poor guy. We found him abandoned by the road tied to a tree." The woman stated sadly as the puppy stirred from its sleep.

The lab blearily cracked open its eyes to reveal that they were multicolor like Anti's, one blue and the other green.

"He's beautiful." Anti whispered as he tentatively reached a finger through the bars.

The puppy yawned before getting up and padding over to Anti, gently butting his head against Anti's finger much to his delight.

"We'll take him." Dark decided as he watched Anti stroke the puppy's fur, his expression filled with pure joy.

"What should we name him?" Dark asked Anti as the woman unlocked the cage so they could take the dog home.

"I picked the dog, you pick the name." Anti told him as he scooped up the puppy in his arms, laughing as the started licking Anti's face.

"What about Bud?" Dark suggested.

"That's an awesome name for an awesome dog." Anti replied with a smile.

Once the paperwork was finished and the dog was paid for, they went to the vet to give Bud a check up before they went to the pet store.

"Ooh, this collar's perfect!" Anti exclaimed as he picked up a blue and green collar.

"Looks good." Dark nodded before picking out a couple of toys for him.

Once their arms were loaded with supplies, they paid for them and took them to the car where Bud was waiting for them.

Bud cried and whined as he paced across the backseat, waiting anxiously for the return of his owners.

"Aw poor Bud, he's whimpering." Anti cooed as he moved the puppy from the backseat of the car to his lap in the passenger seat.

"It's okay bub, we'll take care of you." Dark promised the lab as they drove home.
