A wave of murmurs washed over the village. Rulebreaker glanced at everyone. He looked at Frostbite and walked over but kept his head down. Frostbite kept her head held high as he walked over.

"Can we talk?" He asked. "Away from everyone?"

Polar nodded. "Sure!" Freeze said. She whipped around with a flick of her spikeless tail and walked out into the sunlight. Frostbite ordered the rest to stay there and she followed Freeze with Polar behind her. Rulebreaker followed. They reached the shade of another tree and Rulebreaker stood in front of his dragonets.

"So," he said, looking around to make sure no one was there. "You all are my dragonets?"

Frostbite nodded. "Yes, this is Polar and Freeze."

"We're twins!" Freeze said, hugging Polar. "But, in the egg, I absorbed most of Polar's ice. So, I leave a trail of frost where ever I go." She tapped a flower and it for encased in frost and wilted.

"I'm okay with that," Rulebreaker said smiling. "And you are?"

"I am Frostbite. The eldest."

"And the most stubborn," Freeze muttered and Frostbite stepped on her talon. "OW! See? I was right!"

Frostbite scoffed and rolled her eyes. Rulebreaker looked at each of his dragonets. "I'm sorry I wasn't there for any of you."

Frostbite felt shocked jolt through her wings. "What?"

"I'm sorry. I thought Hurricane got executed or grounded for seeing me." Rulebreaker said. "But, she was hiding you three. I'm so happy to know that you all even exist." He smiled and hugged Frostbite and put his wings around Polar and Freeze.

Frostbite was shocked. She expected Rulebreaker to be, well, a rule-breaker. She expected him to like most NightWings and have a constant smug look on his face that Frostbite couldn't wait to claw off. But, he seemed nice. Guess his parents weren't the smartest with the name choices. Frostbite thought. But, he did break the rules! He had me and Freeze and Polar! It's all his fault I'm never going to be queen or ever be high in the rankings! All the mean things that other dragonets called her, all her dreams that have been crushed because of what she is, all the times she's looked over the horizon of that Ice Cliff feared to be speared to death because of the uncertainty of her type, flowed back into her mind all of them leading to Rulebreaker fault. But, Frostbite couldn't bring herself to break the hug between her and her father.

Finally, Freeze pulled away from the hug and started asking a little too many questions: "Can we read minds?" "Can we see the future?" "Are we animus?" "Are there any other abilities we can have because we're hybrids?"

"Freeze, I doubt that you of all IceWings need to be any more dangerous." Said Frostbite.

"Right back at you, Frosty!" Freeze snapped back.

"Shut up or I'll claw your face off!" Frostbite growled.

Polar slumped and Rulebreaker just smiled.

Suddenly, Snowflake walked over. "You okay Frostbite?"

"I'm fine, Snowflake." Frostbite said, swaying her tail from side to side.

Rulebreaker turned and looked at Snowflake with his dark blue eyes. "Hello," he greeted. "Are you a friend of Frostbite?"

"Aquatints," Frostbite said. "She is Queen Glaciers daughter. Also, know as Hurricanes niece."

"Oh," Rulebreaker said. He turned around and bowed to Princess Snowflake. Frostbite's left eye twitched with jealousy and Freeze laughed. As Frostbite was scowling at Freeze, she saw a NightWing lurking in the forest. Her eyes seemed to be filled with hate and scheming. Frostbite made sure no one was paying attention to her while she sneaked away and kept low to keep herself hidden even though she hated the feeling of the mud and wet leaves brushed her scales. She saw the NightWing as she scanned the forest. Frostbite got behind her and pounced onto her. The NightWing roared as Frostbite claws went into her back. Frostbite jumped off; she'd never fight an unfair fight. She stood up straight in a superior way. "What's with the shifty looks, NightWing?" Frostbite asked.
