I could hear my flip flops smacking against the pavement and feel the hot sun on my shoulders. My legs were tired and I was out of breath, the summer heat can really hit ya. The only thing that kept me going was the thought of the sweet cold water awaiting at the end. I decided that it wasn't the worst idea to take a break and sit down in the alley way for a little bit. I sat there and looked at my phone, my friend texted me, she was getting impatient. I put it back in my pocket and tried to steady my breathing, I watched as a few people walked by before I decided maybe it was time to go.
I arrived a few minutes later with sweat beads running down my forehead, "hi, sorry I'm late," she gave me a snarky look and grabbed my arm. She led me into the bathroom and I started to get changed. Just as I was taking off my shirt she screamed, I jumped back nearly tumbling over, "what the-" she put a finger over my mouth like that would help she was the one who just screamed. She looked through the crack so I put my head above hers and looked too, there was a man standing there watching us. "Get out you perv!" I opened the door and walked over to him, "what are you doing in here?" He wasn't even stunned, he looked down on me and smiled. "What is wrong with you!?!?" My friend came out of the stall laughing as hard as she could, I looked at both of them and sighed "so your her new boyfriend?" He just kept smiling, I turned around and went back into the stall. My friend just kept laughing so I threw a towel at her face, why was I so gullible?
She drove me home in her car since she was going that way anyways, her and her new guy were going out on a date. She dropped me off at the end of my apartment row and I waved good bye. I watched as she drove away, I watched until she drove over the hill, and I swear just before they disappeared I saw him smile. I smiled back and began walking to my building, weird, I decided to forget about it. I stopped at my neighbours house to get my dog Lexi, she was hysterical when she seen me. She practically pulled me up the stairs, I stumbled right into the door. My head was pounding and my ears were ringing, I opened it and let Lexi off the leash. As soon as I regained balance I looked at my phone and set an alarm for 9:30. I plopped onto my bed and drifted off, I slept for about 5 hours before my phone woke me up, who would be calling at this time?
