Zach's Pov

I'm currently sitting down near the gate waiting for our numbers to be called. Daniel has been talking non stop about nothing other than Alice. I'm glad that he has finally made a move but at other times it reminds me of my mistakes.

Did I do the right thing? Of course, she deserves to know the truth. But now Kristen can't even look at me. I've dreaded for years to see her reaction.

I sigh, looking down at the plane ticket in my hands. "Group two, I repeat group two, you may now proceed to check in."

Following the other passengers, I hand in my ticket and find my seat on the plane. Once again, I was assigned next to Daniel.

"I call window seat," Daniel says.

"Go ahead," I smile, allowing him to enter first. I take a seat on the outer end with a pillow in my hand. Last night I didn't get much sleep so hopefully, this flight can restore what I lost.

"Hey, Zach."

"Hm?" I mumble against my soft pillow.

"I just wanted to say thanks. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be where I am now with Alice. Thanks for giving me that push."

I open my eyes as a yawn leaves my mouth, "No problem," I say before shutting my eyes again.

"I owe you big time man," he tells me, slapping my arm.

"Okay."

"How about I buy you a beverage? Pick anything on the menu."

I groan softly, "I'm good."

"What about a snack?"

"Daniel!" I shout, earning glares from all around the room. "Right now I just want some alone time," I lower my voice.

"You sound like Kristen," Daniel laughs. "Speaking of which, how is that doing?"

I shrug my shoulder, "Same as before. I barely spoke to her before we left today."

"Why don't you text her? We got wifi on the plane."

"I don't know man. Just let it go."

"What about, we hire a skywriter?" Daniel asks.

I cringe. "She's not a Disney star, Daniel."

"Fair enough. What about...we hire-"

"Dude, we aren't hiring anyone," I say.

"We? Glad this is a team effort!"

I roll my eyeballs. "This is Kristen we're talking about, not Alice. We do one thing that is cliche, she'll strangle you! The best thing right now is to just keep our distance."

"Bullshit," He whispers.

"Calm down Lil Tay," I laugh. "Daniel, read my lips. I'm not going to do anything."

"I'm gone to North Pole to anus?"'

"Ew, what the fuck is wrong with you?"

"I was just reading your lips."

I shake my head. Daniel is so stupid. "I'm going to bed. Wake me up when it's landing time." My eyes are shut but I can still hear Daniel's pen scratching against a piece of paper. I sigh. Why does my manager hate me?

We arrive at the house around nighttime. I directly head to my room and plop onto my bed. Finally, I'm back.

"Hey, Buddy!" A voice says. "I'm gonna go to the library. Wanna come with me unless you wanna stay here?"

"No! Leave me alone Daniel," I fight back.

"Um...no problem, Jonah," Jack responds.

I turn around. "Oh, sorry. Isn't the library closed?"

"It's open until nine."

"What are you gonna do there anyway? You don't read," I mock.

"Geez. Why are you so mad?"

I don't reply. I walk over to the door and slam it in his face. That felt good. "Sorry," I say in advance.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You ruined my hair!" Jack screams.

I remain silent.
