ASHTON AND LUKE met on a starry night, bumping into one another completely on accident. Luke was on his way home from Barbara's house with blurred vision - his three-hour nap to blame - and Ashton was on his way home from lacrosse practice. Luke was apprehensive about bumping into Ashton, spewing his apologetic words, and smiling with his single thousand-watt smile that had anyone head-over-heels and speechless. Ashton was just another person who quickly fell for Luke's charm, while also unintentionally making Luke fall in line as one of Ashton's many fans with his dimples and messy hair and glasses. It was inevitable when the two shortly started dating after two months of courting and small, meaningful dates.

Luke and Ashton were two people who were just meant to meet. Their personalities were alike and they often reflected one another actions, Ashton becoming a more organized person and Luke oozing a very Ashton-like confidence.

Michael and Luke had just recently met. Michael had Luke despising him and Luke had Michael swooning but in a badass-punk way that didn't give himself away so easily. Luke didn't particularly enjoy Michael's behavior or aura or even the way he spoke as much as he had enjoyed Ashton's at the beginning, or even as much as he enjoyed any of those things about Ashton now. Michael Clifford was just not Ashton Irwin, no matter what.

So maybe it was the right move for Michael Clifford to turn his head away at the very last second, halting Luke's actions altogether.

"I don't think that's the best idea right now, petal."

Luke's lips parted, inhaling a shaky breath, and he nodded. He retracted his hands from the back of Michael's shirt and let them hang at his sides, dropping his head so he could stare at his trousers.

"You still have a boyfriend. I just don't think it'd be wise for you to kiss me, yet." Michael's voice didn't sound as if he had regretted pulling away from the boy he had been chasing for over a month now as he explained it to Luke in the softest tone possible. "You and I both know that you won't break up with Ashton and as much as I'm looking for a fight, I don't want you in the middle of it."

Right, Luke thought to himself, at least he's thinking about me.

Luke felt a bit of gratitude toward Michael. As of now, Michael was possibly the most mature out of the whacky love triangle that Luke had placed himself in the center of, no matter how dumb he thought love triangles were. Ashton wanted Luke to kiss Michael and Luke found himself a little bit on the edge of having a crush on Michael to wanting to be with Michael. It just wasn't a place that Luke wanted to be right now.

"I-I'm sorry," Luke spoke in an undertone. He felt a little bit guilty for pulling a fast one on Michael - who just wanted to care for him at that moment and know what was wrong with him. "I don't know what came over me. I guess I'm a little stressed out."

"I can tell," Michael chuckled and Luke tried not to think about just how pleasing that was to hear. His shoulders relaxed and let a smile carve itself on his face. He glanced at Michael who had pulled out a chair and had Luke's dangling feet in his lap, gazing up at Luke through his black hair with an innocent look in his eyes. "Wanna tell me what's wrong, petal?"

"What did I say about calling me that?" Luke blushed, breaking eye contact to pretend that the nickname didn't affect him. He didn't remember the last time he had told Michael to quit calling him that, or when he had grown so used to hearing the name fall past Michael's plump lips that it almost sounded normal. He was a little disappointed when Ashton kept calling him by name, being so used to the simple nicknames that would fly past Michael's lips that made his heart flutter and his stomach erupt.

"I don't remember." Michael pinched the bottom of Luke's trousers. "I just know that you're avoiding telling me what's wrong."

"Ashton wants me to kiss you," Luke admitted with rosy cheeks. "H-he wants revenge on you for breaking his leg and benching him for the rest of the season."
