After school, I decided to skip My bus  and ride with arts and crafts kid. She was kinda nice for a loner and she had interesting stories to tell. "So how long is it going to take"
"Just a few minutes, then we'll walk the rest of the way" walking was not my thing, considering I do it every day.

"Don't worry it's a few houses down" she said with a big smile

I sigh, tho I wanted to see if those rumors are true about this kid. They always say that she's crazy or she murders people but that doesn't seem like what she'll do. A few minutes later we start walking. "Soo, why does everyone thinks your crazy" she shrugs "they've been making those rumors for years on end... I'm used to them now"

"Oh.." It was a quite short walk to her house. It was a normal everyday house, two floors, two bathrooms, three bedrooms, a decent size kitchen, and the living room was big enough to have a full party alone inside. Of course for kids my age.

"Mom I'm home, and I brought a friend" she called out. A ginger hair lady comes out of the kitchen wearing a kiss the cook robe. She walks to crafts kid hugs her tightly. "Dinner is almost ready, got any homework?"

"No" she always has a big smile on her face, no matter what. "I just realized, I don't know your real name" I was ashamed

"Oh, its betty"

"Oh, like betty boop?" I laugh a little

"Yea I guess.. my room is in the attic" did I just hear her correctly? Her bedroom is in the attic?! Who likes sleeping in the attic there usually dusty and creepy. Betty pulls the rope which is connected to the stairs or ladder to the attic. I climbed up first and to my surprise it was huge! It was filled with drawings and painting, not really the best but still. I walk around her room, for a kid she's pretty good at drawing. "So? What do you want to do?" She asks putting down some paper and paint

"Do you have any video games?"

"A few, but you might not like them" she pulled out a couple of dress up games, puzzle games and fighting games. But the one I chose was a mighty dog: space adventure game. It came out a few weeks ago and my parent didn't even buy it for me. We put it in the console and she handed me the second player controller.

We played for a good thirty minutes until her mom called us down for dinner. We paused the game and ran downstairs, I see her father and baby brother already there. We sat down and pray before we ate. The food was delicious best I ever had, considering my mom rarely cooks except when my father is home.

"So, Baltimore what's school like for you?"

"It's um..." Well school isn't the best place "pretty good, my grades are perfect and I made a new friend"

"That's a nice boy! Now say do you consider my daughter pretty" her dad say out of the blue

"Daaad!" Betty's face turns red

"What?" We all started laughing and making jokes. I wish this what my family did, but that's never going to happen. After dinner betty mom offers me a ride home, I agreed and got into the car. "Thank you," her mom said "why"

"You see, Betty isn't really good at making friends, and kids tease her and make rumors about her and my family. Parent don't want their kid to come over or do anything about us. You're a very sweet boy for giving her a chance"

"Oh, then you're welcome" I few blocks later we're at the front of my house. "Thank you ms. ?"

"Ms. Goldmore" I nod and walk into my house with my father waiting for me at the door.
