ch 8

Months pass and I and Alica started hanging out less and less while I and Betty started hanging out more. I've noticed lately that things started to change; the bullying stop, my parents seem nicer and my hair finally grew back but not fully. Things started to look up for me.

I sigh, as I felt the sun and the soft grass. It was a warm day, everyone was either inside playing games or outside doing whatever. Today I was lazy, my mom didn't want me inside all day so she told me to go outside tho she didn't say I had to play.

As I close my eyes, the sun was blocked by a shadow. I open them to see Alica standing over me. She had on a nice red and white tank top with blue jean shorts and black flats. "Oh hey" I sit up "what are you doing here"

"I came over to see if you wanted to come over"

"Don't your mom hate me"

"Not as much," she said looking away

"Uhh huh, but sorry I'm hanging out with Betty today"

"Whats with you and Betty? It's like your best friends now"

"Can't say we're not since, ya know, and we have more in common"

"Well then, that checks out. I'm hanging out with the both of you today and you can't say otherwise"

"Whatever" I lay back down. The shadow left and the sun was back. It didn't take long since I heard Betty mom's car pulling up. Betty jump out and walk over to me "are you ready or gonna lay here all day"

"Yea yea I'm ready, oh, and Alica wants to join us"

"First you gave her a chance now yo-"

"I didn't ask her she force herself in"

she groans "fine whatever" we both get into the car with Alica following behind. We sat in the back and played with anything we brought for the hour trip. "So where are we going"

"To the carnival"

"Oh, and the trip is an hour is it?"

Both of us look at each other then back at her "yes"

"can we make a stop at my house" betty mom happily nods and drives a few blocks to her house. "Don't take long"

"Don't worry, I'm just getting my phone"

As she left we both roll our eyes "hopefully this will still be fun... Right?"

"I hope so too or you owe me," Betty said with a smirk

I gulp, we waited 15 minutes before she came out. Both me and Betty were already regretting going in the first place. Betty mom decided to cheer us up by taking us to get snacks and drink since we'll get hungry during the ride. We got a few bags of family size chips, a pack of pops and candy. We were finally ready and started the trip. Betty and I started playing a multiplayer MMORPG 14 minutes in. We were already at lv 120 before our batteries were low. I turned my phone off, so did Betty and decided to play I, spy.

"I spy something green and red"

"That barn?"

"Yep"

Betty mom just laughs, Alica, on the other hand, fell asleep almost halfway in. 

"You wouldn't think"

"Nah, anyway why did you gave her a second chance? I know you lied the first time I ask" she asks while not losing eye contact

"Because, I didn't want to be like her, a little brat who can't let something go, but she changed now... I think" I said sounding as honest as I can. Really, I just couldn't see her cry anymore. I forgot she was a crybaby when she doesn't get her way and I didn't want to cause a scene.

"Uhh huh, let do something else"

"Okay"

"Sock puppets! I brought two for the both of us!" She pulls out two hands made sock puppets and gave one to me. It looks almost recognizably like me. "Sweet! They look very nice" I put it on and played with her. She was really good at making voices and making a sound like the character. I was pretty good myself "she says".

" some. Cornman, where did you hide the body!"

"I'll never tell you sweet button bottoms!" I yawn a bit. She notices.

"I'm tired and our phones are charging slow, Imma take a quick nap"

"Alright.." Both of us close our eye....

A few seconds later...That's when I heard a screech and everything went black
