For me it's black, an achromatic color. Fearful, has a negative connotation.
Dusky...
As black as blindness. Blind enough that the truth of what I really feel or the depths of my loneliness, is out of sight, from the sight of those living souls I'm being with.
As black as a starless night...
Nothing even one bright stellar, to glisten in the sky.
Purple, a mix of somber blue and active red.
Yes, it does symbolize royalty and dignity.
But...
Can be mournful, melancholic, yet soft and lonely.
Sometimes it secretes the hue of blue, owing to the fact that it offers sadness and depression.
