I had set my alarm particularly early. I wanted to look perfect, smell perfect, and be as perfect as possible. I didn't know what to do or how to act. I hadn't really hung out with someone, friend or boyfriend or whatever, in over a year. I was super excited.

I went to my dresser and picked out an outfit I had set aside to wear one day. A day when I would need it. Dress to impress. It wasn't incredibly fancy, but it wasn't completely casual.

It was a turquoise button pleat dress with a thin bow at the waist, pearl earrings, and a pair of all white Vans. I decided that I would bring my white Michael Kors handbag along with me.

When my parents died, they had left a lot of money with my brother and I. My father was a doctor, and my mother was a dentist. We had an enormous house in a fancy neighborhood. My mother spent a lot of money on my clothing and accessories. She always said "Classy, not trashy." I hadn't been to my house in quite a while.

I put the outfit on the bed and went to go talk to Clarice. I had to take my chemotherapy before I left as well. The chemo has become a normal routine. I haven't really thought about it or had to worry about it. As a matter of fact, I have been actually feeling a lot better since I started the chemo.

I knocked on the door to Clarice's office and waited for a response.

"Come in!" she said in a very happy tone.

"Hello Clarice!" I said as I walked in.

"Oh Amanda! What good news I have for you!"

"What is it?"

"Well, the other nurses and I have been observing your body's reaction to the chemotherapy. So far, your body had made fantastic progression! From what we are witnessing now, we predict that you will be cancer free much sooner than what we had predicted a month ago. With this progression, you should be able to leave this hospital in about a couple of months! You would just need to visit to take your chemotherapy."

I was completely shocked. This was so much wonderful news spewed upon me. It was an incredible feeling. I felt my eyes swell up with tears of joy.

"Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you!" I ran over and hugged her.

"You're welcome, sweetheart."

I embraced her once again and cried on her shoulder, tears of joy. Then I remembered what my purpose of coming here was.

"Clarice?"

"Yes."

"Well, I was wondering if I could leave the hospital for a couple of hours with a friend. Would that be okay with you?"

"Of course, honey. It was well deserved."

"Thank you so much, Clarice!"

"But, before you leave, you have to take your chemotherapy."

We walked back to my room and followed the procedure.

Once she left, I hopped in the shower that was in my room. After I got out of the shower, it was about 8:00. I got on my outfit and began to do my hair. I dried it and lightly curled it.

As for makeup, I never really wore much. I decided on some mascara and lipgloss. I put on some perfume and looked at myself in the full-length mirror in my room.

For once in over a year, I actually looked amazing. My mother always told me that I had gifted looks. I had long blonde hair, I was tall, I had brown eyes, I was slim, I rarely broke out, and I had long slim legs. My skin was always tan. It was just my natural skin color. The outfit really complimented my curves and my legs.

By the time I was completely ready, it was about 8:50. I decided to go on my iPhone 5s while I waited. After about ten minutes or so I heard a knock on my already opened door.

"Hey Amanda. Are you ready?"

I looked up and saw Cam. He looked amazing. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt, black skinny jeans, and black Vans. Even though it sounds like nothing special, I couldn't stop staring. His hair was on point, and his eyes no longer looked like he had been crying or that he hasn't slept in days.

"Amanda?"

I hadn't realized that I didn't answer his question.

"Oh. Uh. Yea I'm ready." I said as I started to blush.

"Alright, let's go."

He held out his hand and I took it as he helped me off the bed.

"You look beautiful by the way." He said to me as he helped me up. I smiled at his lovely compliment.

"Do you have a car here?" I asked Cam as we exited my room and headed for the exit of the hospital.

"Yea. Do you?"

"Yea. Do you want to take mine or yours? Mine is probably parked closer since it hasn't moved in a year."

"Ok. Let's take yours."

We continued walking until we reached the exit. As we stepped outside, the sun was shining and a beautiful breeze brushed past us. It felt amazing. I stopped walking and let the world take over my senses. It was such a different scenery from the bleak white hospital that I have been imprisoned in.

"It's nice, isn't it?" Cam broke me from my thoughts.

"Yea. I've missed the beautiful L.A. scenery, not just looking at it from a window. Well, we should get going."

We continued walking until we reached my car.

"HOLY CRAP! That's your car?!" Cam asked with astonishment.

"Yea. My parents were like crazy rich."

He stared in awe at my open-top, gilled, white Aston Martin. It was a beautiful car. My favorite out of all of our cars.

"You wanna drive, Cam?"

"Really? Can I?" he asked like a kid in a candy store.

"Of course." I threw him the keys and he ran over and hopped in the driver's seat.

"Wow. This is a really nice car."

"Yea. I love Aston Martin's. We have a couple more back at the house."

"Oh. My. God."

"I know. My parents went a little overboard."

I got in the passenger's seat as Cam put the key in ignition.

"Where to?" Cam asked me as the car started up.

"Surprise me."

"I'm good with surprises." Cam smirked and pulled out of the hospital.

I was already having and amazing day, and the day has barely started.
