"Can I get a tall iced caramel macchiato please?"

I ordered my coffee at Starbucks which is my favorite coffee shop ever and looked around for a seat.

The place was pretty crowded at 9 in the morning as it took the barista, a whole 10 minutes to get my coffee.

Trying my best to not let my crankiness take over me, I moved toward an empty table.

I took out my phone from my jean pocket and started scrolling through instagram, when I saw a bunch of college students laugh and giggle.

I almost saw myself  having a fun time with my friends and it reminded me of how happy I was back in Portland.

"I hope Boston treats me well"  I thought to myself and went back to my phone.

                            -----------

After taking the last sip of my coffee, I realised that I was getting late.

I really need a digital detox!

I got up to leave and was heading out when I bumped into someone.

"What the fuck! Did someone sprinkle ground beans in your eyes that you couldn't see a six feet tall guy walking with a coffee cup?"

I looked up to see a blond guy with his eyebrows knitted together.

"I'm really sorry. I should've been more careful" I apologised.

"You bit--" he stopped when he saw a stain on his shirt. And that was enough to infuriate me.

"Excuse me? Watch your words!"

Then I remembered why I was in a hurry.

"Listen I'm already late for my class and in no mood to take this any further. To hell with you and your coffee!" I snapped and walked past him.

                   -----------------------

I hurriedly reached the class.

"Can I come in professor?"

I was worried that he might not let me in.

"Oh hello Ms Kingston, you're fifteen minutes late" He said looking down in his watch.

"I'm so sorry professor. I came across a dork on the way and---- it's a long story. It won't happen again."
The whole class bursted into laughter.

"Alright take your seat" he said politely.

"Thankyou" I bit my lip.

I was searching for an empty seat when I saw the same 'dork' lasering at me with his orbs. I sighed wondering if I had made an enemy on the very first day.
I took the seat next to him, the only seat that was unoccupied because I was really hard on luck.

"Are you really gonna just pretend now that you're not sitting next to me?"

He finally spoke after a couple of minutes, breaking the silence between us.
