"Don't you dare take a step forward!" I kept moving back with shaky legs until I slammed against a hard wall. There were bruises all over my hands and I yelled in pain as I slided down the wall.

The man was wearing a hood and was dressed in black clothes. He started taking slow strides towards me, with a dagger held in one palm and yanked my bruised arm as I grimaced in pain.

"Did I not make myself clear that night? YOU ACT SMART, YOU DIE!"
He let go off my arm and held the pointed end of the dagger to my jaw.

"You deserve to die Catherine!" I heard a scream coming from behind the man.

My eyes went wider when I saw Cindy stabbed in her stomach.

"You killed me! Your own sister!" She yelled and disappeared in thin air.

"Now it's time for you to die" The man brought forward the dagger and stabbed me hard in my stomach.

"Aaahhhh..." I got up, panting hard.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I realised that it was just a dream.
No, it was a nightmare! That made me jolt out of my bed at 5:15 in the morning.
I took a deep breath and blew out as I paced towards the kitchen. I gulped down two whole glasses of water and rubbed my forehead.

"Is is always gonna be this way from now on? I don't even remember the last time I had a good night's sleep" I muttered to myself, as a wave of anxiety hit me.

Putting my hands on my hips, I started pacing back and forth in the kitchen, with my head lowered and finally decided to get some fresh air.

I quickly changed into high-waisted black gym pants and bright red hoodie bra, pulled my hair into a bun and put on my Beats powerbeats before making an exit from the hallway.

A sense of tranquility washed over me as the cool winter breeze caressed the exposed parts of my body. I took a deep, long breath, letting equanimity enter my system and began slow jogging.
Some time later

The sun was already up in the sky, it's golden rays shining brightly, warming the air around me. The dawn chorus set aside the blues, as if cheering me and took the gloominess away.

"I've never felt so calm and peaceful in a long time" I thought to myself.

Just when I was about to head back home, I heard a loud voice call out my name. I glanced over my shoulder to see Nick, jogging to catch up with me, with a smile crept on his face.

"I didn't peg you as an early morning jogger" he said, catching his breath.

I chuckled.

"Well, this is my first time. Are you always up this early?" I asked him, stretching my hands.

"Yeah. I'm trying to maintain this routine. I feel like I'm starting to turn into a bit of a fitness freak" he sipped his drink from his green sipper, without breaking eye contact.

My gaze shifted towards his bulging biceps that made him look ultra sexy. He was wearing a grey vest and black shorts and his dishevelled hair didn't let me take my eyes off him.

"Like what you see?" He smirked.

I quickly composed myself.

"I've seen better Nick" I rolled my eyes.

He let out a laugh and continued "Anyway, when are you leaving for college?"
I glanced at my watch before answering.
"Just in about, an hour" I replied.
"Perfect. How about I drop you off today? I'm leaving for work in an hour anyway. Maybe I can meet some of your friends." He looked at me, waiting for me to respond.
