Jungkook's P.O.V.

Highschool starts in a few days, like next week on Monday, and I can't say I'm excited. Like, I'm not ready to go back to school. I have multiple reasons. One of them is being mute. The other... is that Taehyung's transferring there. Ever since I met him, I've been having this weird feeling in my stomach, but I just ignored it. In all honesty, I'm scared I might feel that feeling again.

I finished packing the rest of my stuff for school. My work shift starts in a half an hour. I got dressed, making sure to pull my sleeves down, and wore my favorite beanie. I stuffed my earphones in as usual as I began walking towards the cafe. I walked in the cafe and was met with a smiling Jin at the counter.

"Hello there Jungkook. How've you been?" he asked as I walked around the counter towards the back.

I looked around, making sure there was no sign of Taehyung, and signed "doing great, just a bit tired" with my hands. Jin nodded and told me to get enough rest next time.

Jin, Namjoon, and Hoseok know that I'm mute, you probably already know that. The thing I like about them is that they treat me like an equal, just like how I wish Taehyung would. Yeah, they did treat me like I was disabled at the very beginning, but now they understand me better. All of them know sign language, well Hoseok knows the basics, and they all learned it just for me. I told them not to waste their time on learning sign language, but they still learned it. I'm really grateful for them. Like, super grateful. But I can't help but still question why they're still here. Why they still care for me. Aren't I a failure?

I put on my apron on and headed out to the counter. I looked up at the screen and saw that a customer needed the usual morning coffee, and so I got started. A few hours past and my entire body was aching. Probably because I slept on the couch again. I continued making the drinks, never taking a break since Hoseok and some other co-workers wanted to take the day off for some reason. Jin worked there along side me, checking up on me, just like a mother would.

Jin let out a long sigh as the day started getting less and less busy. The door to the cafe opened again, signalling that another customer came in. And so Jin placed the cup of water he had been drinking and took the customer's order.

"What would you like, sir?" he asked.

"Just a cappuccino, please." I recognized that voice from anywhere. My tired body immediately woke up when hearing his voice.

I placed my cup of water down next to Jin's and quickly started making Taehyung's order. When I came out to the front, Taehyung quickly waved a hello and I waved back.

"How've you been, Kookie?" he asked. I blushed at the nickname. I only shrugged in return. His boxy smile frowned a bit, but was quickly replaced. I was confused, but just shrugged it off.

Not wanting to blow my cover of being mute, I turned my back to him and continued with his drink. It's been around three weeks since Taehyung came to this cafe. And I can't say that I'm not grateful. He would somehow always make me smile when I saw him. He would ask me questions and talk to me during work, and if he caught up, he would chat to me when I was walking home. Even though I didn't say anything in return, I still had a good time, even though I had to make sure I wouldn't mess up and accidentally reveal my disability.

I just don't know if Taehyung felt the same, though. Like, why would he want to hang out with me? A piece of shit? I dont' know... but I hope he realizes that he's just wasting his time on me.

Taehyung grabbed his drink and sat in the table in the far corner. After a while, I checked to see if he was still there, and he was. His drink was gone, which I guess he had finished, and he looked like he was waiting for someone. Probably a blind date or something. An hour passed and Taehyung was still there. I raised an eyebrow and he caught me starring. He just waved his hand, which I awkwardly returned.
