The rest of the week was pretty boring until Raven came with news that almost turned me into a murderer.
"Zack broke up with me last night."
Thats what she said to me on Wednesday. Since then, she hasnt been my happy Raven. Zack broke her heart and hid the pieces for her to find. At school, I give him death glares and one time flipped him the bird which got a small smile out of Raven. She talks about how she misses him and I tell her he didnt deserve her. Which, he didnt. You dont just go around saying you love a sweet girl like Raven and then stab her in the back, leaving her to die. She was destroyed. He was going to pay in some way. But my number one priority was to make Raven happy.
"You are coming! I will drag you if I have to."
She sighs through the phone, her voice tired, "I don't feel up for it Kalin. I just want to sit here with my pringles and get fat." She sounded almost sarcastic, I couldnt figure out if that was good or bad.
"It'll be fun. We can go get fat together somewhere. You need to enjoy yourself."
I can just picture her pinching the bridge of her nose with her eyes squeezed shut, "you never give up, do you? I. am. not. going."
"Yes. you. are."
"No."
"Yeah. I'll be over in a few. Get dressed."
"Kalin! Im-"
"Whoops. Sorry, cant hear you." I say, knowing she knew I was lying.
"Kalin!!!"
"See you sooooon!!" I hang up with a grin. She'll be ready and if she isnt I will dress her myself, which I dont look forward to doing.
I was already ready. My hair was pulled to the side in a braid and my bangs were tucked behind my ear, except for one rebelious strand. I had on a simple white t-shirt that fit loose and some black pants. A long necklace with three black and white hearts on it swayed as I moved. Then I had on my favorite black converse. My bracelets ranged from different bands that I liked. There was a Pierce The Veil one along with another with the lyrics "King For A Day". There were some Sleeping With Sirens and my favorite 5 Seconds of Summer. I pretty much displayed my life through bracelets.
I stuffed the phone in a tight pocket and leave the empty house. I locked the door from the outside and hid the key in my other pocket. Josh was out with some friends while Dad was probably at the Flea Market looking at some interesting junk. He enjoyed strolling around to different setups to find the most exotic item.
My bike was already set up by the doorstep, Josh's doing. He must of remembered mine and Derek's conversation. I jump down the steps and hop on the seat. With a shove I take off down the road. Only a few houses down was the cream building that Raven lived in. I toss the bike by the porch and knock impatiently.
Raven opened the door with a glare. I grin at her. She was ready. Her hair was down to frame her face and she wore skinny jeans with a light pink, quarter-length shirt with a large gray heart on it. She crosses her arms, "I'm ready."
"And you look adorable. Let's go."
I grab her wrist and drag her out. "Get your bike or you're walking." She grumbles under her breath while she retrieves the bike. She plops on it and tells me she hates me repeatedly. I smile and lead the way to Burger Den. She still says it, every time we turn. I laugh and she grimaces when we pull into the restaurant. "I should have guessed it would be here."
"You love Burger Den and you know it. Stop whining and have fun."
Derek grins as he sees us. "Glad to see you could make it Raven." She smiles weakly and looks away. He looks at me and I shrug. Derek, being a gentleman, takes Raven's bike and pushes it where thee rest were. Aideen called Raven over and she strolls there reluctantly.
