------Derek POV---------
Jonathon was not happy.
"Where did you go?"
We were sitting in the attic where his office was. He sat behind the desk with me on a crate in the corner. The dull yellow light was reflecting off his pale skin, giving him an even more terrifying appearence.
"We went to Burger Den for breakfast and then watched a movie. That's it."
"And who did you go with?"
He glares at me with evil eyes. He stands up and gets all up in my face, knowing it would make me nervous. I clench my fists and answer his question.
"Kalin and her two friends."
Jonathon's thick brows raise in suspision, "James didn't go with you?"
"No. He was at Burger Den for awhile, but he left."
His breath reeked of coffee as he gets even closer, "you better be telling me the truth."
I stare him dead in the eye and say, "I am." Jonathon backs away with suspision still clear in his eyes and plops back into his chair. He clasps his hands together and watches me for a second. I was just waiting for him to launch and strangle me over my fib.
I was already in deep water so why drown James with me? If Jonathon found out that James was with me we'd both be dead.
"You knew you weren't supposed to be around her."
"We had already made plans," I say smoothly. He sighs and looks at the dusty floor for a second before pursing his lips.
"Maybe so. But you still have to face consequences. Don't ever think I'm going to let you go easy."
I felt my heart drop. Terror ignites my pulse and he smirks. "Scared, boy? You should be."
I gulp, my palms sweaty. I had a feeling that my punishment wasnt going to be pleasent, even if it couldnt kill me. He could do so much damage and me still be able to live. Thats another curse in the whole immortal package.
With speed that caught me off guard, Jonathon is on me with my hair tangled in his pale fist. I hiss as he jerks my head back and my hands shoot up to try and loosen the tension. It didn't hurt much but it was an annoying tingle that caused me to react. He smirks again and tugs until my head couldnt go any farther. I grit my teeth and try to shove him back, but he was much stronger than me, immortal or not.
"Don't resist your punishment, Derek. I thought I taught you better."
I don't let go of his wrist and a tinge of annoyance in his dark eyes tells me I made a big mistake. He hisses and tightens his grip. I yelp as he pulls me to him, then throwing me in the floor. The hardwood cracks, making a small split in the floor. A small prick of blood surrounded by bright pink flesh appears on my forearm. A dull throb pulses through me and we sit there for a second, his fingers still knotted in my hair. For a split second, I think its over.
Then I'm flailing across the room and smack the door.
The wood groans against my weight, but still remains intact. I bounce of it and roll down half the flight of stairs. I reach out to break the fall, but only manage to slam my calf into the steps. The pain was annoying. It was a tingle like a snake that slithered its way up my body, making me cringe in discomfort. My breath was more jerky than usual too.
Hey, I'm not perfect. It doesnt matter how tough I am, falling down stairs hurts like hell.
I take deeper gulps of air and sit in this awkward position where my arms were up and one of my legs reached out to the side while the other was bent. I was considering just laying there until the snake of pain left, but Jonathon was still fuming. His leather boot connects with my rib-cage which once again makes me cringe.
