CHAPTER1:
"Are you ready?" Taylor called from the other room.
"No I'm actually quite scared!" I laughed. Taylor comes out of the room in a tie dye shirt,bandana around his head,with skinny jeans on.
"Taylor Michael Caniff! You can't wear that on the first day dude! People are gonna think you're gay,and gay guys are gonna be all over you!" I couldn't help but laugh.
Taylor and I have been best friends since we were about 3. He is my brother basically,except I'm an only child.. My mom treats him like he's her son. He'll spend the night almost everyday. Our moms are best friends too. But my parents are divorced,my dad lives in Virginia while my mom and I live in Indiana.
The first day of school was in 2 days,and I was helping Tay pick out an outfit,and he would help me too.
"Well,what am I supposed to wear?" Taylor was getting frustrated. I smirked and picked out an outfit. He put it on. "I look gay. Thanks Avalanna" he said,sarcastically.
"You look proper! 'Gay' is that tie dye shirt!" I protested. "Let's just try something new tomorrow,okay?" I asked.
"Yeah yeah" Taylor replied.
We were at his house and had gone from his room, to his bathroom, to his living room, back up to his room, sat on the stairs a little, and are currently in his kitchen. We ate some Mac&Cheese and watched TV. I got bored in less than 30 minutes.
"I'm bored", I let out a sigh.
"Avalanna,watch the goddamned TV!", he nudged me and chuckled.
"I just wanna go to school already! I never thought I would say that, but I just don't wanna be sitting around all day." I moaned.
He gave in and said,"Alright fine. what do you wanna do? Wanna go swimming?" He was even more frustrated. "Wanna jump off a plane without a parachute?" he mumbled.
"Hey I heard that!!" I pouted"
"You were supposed to, let's go swimming already!"he laughed.
He got on his swim trunks and we went to my house so I could get my bathing suit. We had finally got to the community pool, when I noticed there were people I had never seen before. College kids? I was only going to be a senior, so I had no idea who they were. I ignored them and walked in with Taylor right behind me.
I lay my towel on the pool chair and sat down next to it. Taylor had taken off his tie dye shirt to reveal his abs. I didn't like Tay in any way, but what girl doesn't like abs?
"You gonna get in?" Taylor asked me. "Those guys are death starin' me, and they're mesmerized by your body." He was scared, I could tell. I just laugh and stuck my feet in. "C'mon, Ava, get in all the way!" he whined.
I rolled my eyes and jumped in. The water was freezing! I swam to the other side of the pool, swimming away from Taylor because he was chasing me. I rose to the surface to find the guys that had been staring at us. There were 4 guys. One had black hair with highlights, one with light brown hair, another with dark brown almost black hair with eyebrows made by angels, the last one had blondish brown hair with perfect hazel brown eyes.
They were all very attractive, but the blondish one stood out to me.
"Avalanna...?" Taylor called.
"A-Avalanna!?" He called again. Why was he so afraid of these guys anyway? I was walking back, but it's kinda hard to walk when you're in water.
"Hey!",the 'Eyebrows' called. "I think your boyfriend misses you right next to him!" he teased Tay. All the boys laughed, but they weren't real laughs. I could tell. My eyebrows narrowed, and I got angry.
"He's not my BOYfriend,he's my BESTfriend. Is it illegal now to have a guy as your best friend if you're a girl!? No,i didn't think so. So just leave us alone!" I went totally off on this kid.Taylor's face was shocked this whole time. Come to think of it, everyone was shocked. Like honestly, who does this kid think he is? People these days...
