"So now you know,it wasn't me or my Pop who tried shooting that old man? He wasn't even an old man. It was all for show. Your mom though,I have no idea if she's fine. And that boy who was "shooting" the old man was Taylor. Thats why he is always all over you and goes everywhere with you. I don't exactly know WHY that your dad is doing this,but he sure is good."The boy explained.
"Thanks,uh.." I waited.
"Jack. Jack Johnson." He smiled.
I knew it! I knew I've seen him before!
"Yeah! I saw you at Gilinsky's party. Hey,how come you went to his party if y'all aren't friends?" I questioned him.
He was quiet for a bit,"Well,I'm friends with Nash and Cam and Matt but Gilinsky just seems to not even notice me anymore," he frowned.
"Anyways,why would a sweet boy like Taylor work for my dad? He is so nice,and I really thought that we were best friends.." I tried to put on a fake smile,it's just-Taylor WAS my best friend,working for my drug dealing dad or not. I loved him like family.
"And my mom" I added," she trusted him.. What'll she think now!?" I needed to get home.
We walked for what felt like miles,talking about things of all kinds. He looked at me every so often as I would talk about my life,and I would do the same when he talked. Jack's mother died when he was only 8 and that's when his dad became a drunk. He's been abused and never loved. I feel bad because I've never been physically abused by loved ones,but I've been verbally abused.
We finally reached a road. I almost cried,I jut wanted to be home in my bed. I wanted to eat. I wanted to bathe,to be clean. I wanted my mom.
He sighed and said,"Well,just go down this road and you'll hit you neighborhood." He started turning around and walking when I stopped him.
"Wait!" I paused to think,"Come with me! Stay with me,at my house for a bit. Just until things die down."
He thought for a moment then shook his head No.
"Please,I don't want you to be abused anymore." He just turned around and I just had to keep walking home.
I got close to my house,on my street.
"Five more houses..." I started running. "Fo-three.." I sprinted as fast as possible until I was in front of my door.
"I'm home. HOME." I ran inside and searched around for my mom.
"MOOOOOMM!!" I yelled up and down the stairs.
I finally ran into my living room and saw my mom,Matt,Audrey,Laura, and my other friends. They were watching TV,I was on it. Me.
It was the news saying I had been kidnapped and raped.
"Mom,Matt-I'm home!! Hello? Guys?! Don't you hear me?! I'm home!!?" I yelled,but they wouldn't turn around or listen.
I ran in front of the TV and unplugged it. They had all been mesmerized by me being on the TV instead of here. Coming back to reality,they all started crying. Each and everyone of them. I had been hugged and kissed and everything in between.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD,AVA. WE WERE WORRIES SICK. WHERE WERE YOU!?" "WHAT THE FUCK?! WHERE WERE YOU?! WERE YOU RAPED?! TELL ME THE TRUTH,AVA!" "I MISSED YOU SO MUCH. WHAT THE HELL?!" Is basically all I heard for about 2 hours. I finally had taken a shower and when I got out,my food was ready. It was the best meal I had ever tasted. Well,probably not,but it was at the moment.
That night,nobody went home. All my friends spent the night.
"I'm sleeping here," Matt said crawling next to me in bed. I rolled my eyes,laughing at him.
He wrapped his arms around me. My back was facing Matt and his arms were around my waist. I turned my head to kind of look at him when he kissed my cheek.
"What was that for?" I asked him.
Smiling at the answer he said,"I missed you," his smile was gone. "I've never missed anyone like this,Ava. I-I love you.." He turned,now laying on his back facing the ceiling.
I rolled I've to face him,"I love you too. And I mean it." I smiled and kissed his lips. They were soft and I safe,like I never wanted to let go. We kissed for a bit then separated. I smiled at him. "Goodnight,Matthew."
He kissed my forehead and said,"Goodnight,Avalanna."
