Oh Sasuke, I remember you well.

we were young during those days. you refused to let go of your brother's hand, nor would you stay away from his side. And he wouldn't mind it. the two of you shared a bond-a bond I will never knew of, nor will I know of.

I remember when I had first met you. I was running away from something (I didn't stay to find out) and I had ran into Itachi. he looked puzzled, why would a young girl like you run in the woods in that type of clothing. I bet he was thinking that, but I couldn't care about my clothing. something was chasing me; I hurried behind Itachi's leg and sealed my eyes shut.

"Please protect me." I had whispered. And he did. what chased me was a small dog that must've followed me when I was at the pond with papa. Itachi held the dog in his hands and grinned.

He was so kind hearted. I always looked up to him for that reason,if anything else.

"It's okay,princess. he's friendly."

I shook my head and covered my face. at that age:I was a afraid of everything and anything. I'm still surprised at how I've made it thus far.

"go on, touch it." Itachi says in his normal calming voice, and I was still afraid, but my fingers moved on its own.

It was nerve wrecking. But Itachi was smiling as the  dog jumped into my hands.

"It seems he likes you."

"Brother...!"

we both looked at each other and then Itachi looked towards the west. And that was when I met you. you were the same as you are now, only shorter and sweeter. a little noble Ninja was within you.

Just like Itachi.

You started at me for a really long time, I could tell what you were thinking. But I always wanted to know.

"Oh, Sasuke...--"

you glared at him intensively, as if you were upset that he left you alone. I apologized, but you shook it off. and so I was going to leave until Itachi stood in my way.

"could you wait a while longer, I rather not see a young girl wandering alone." Itachi insisted. I couldn't keep my eyes off of you. I didn't want to bother you any longer, so I  shook my head and began to leave.

"I see... I cannot stop you. Please be safe, my lady."

I couldn't explain my interest in Itachi, but I too had loved him like a brother. if not a brother, then awfully close to it.

I held you both close to my heart. do you remember when we would walk home together? you were in a hurry, you answered and grabbed my hand, and we ran. ran to your house hand-in-hand. my heart was beating out of control; not from running, but from you touching me.

"Uzume, do you have any friends?" You asked curiously. the room was quiet, and everyone was staring. even your brother. silently, I shook my head.

"father never lets me out of his sight. I have no friends." I shifted my eyes and felt the sting of tears form.

"You can be my friend." you said, holding my hand under the table.  before I could say anything-I found myself spellbound by Itachi and his actions. he felt ...off.

"princess, I'll walk you home if you want."

"Okay."

"Just let me know when you're ready to leave."

we became close, but not inseparable. you were smiling more and teasing me. we were hanging so much fun-that I found myself asleep on the floor next to you.

That was when everything went dark and scary. I woke up to see you weren't with me anymore, and I was in Itachi's arms.  his eyes were red and his face looked scary.

"Itachi..."

he hushed me as we made it out of the gate.

"where is sasuke?!" I cried out,and his hand was on my mouth.

"strength is a will fixed by  mental, physical, and emotional will. Uzume, you need to be strong...and.."

I didn't know what exactly he meant, but I have so many questions to ask him.

I know of his love for you,Sasuke, his younger brother. But I don't understand why he saved me. was I special to him in a way? did he love me like I was his younger sister? or was it more?

I wanted to have there for you, but I couldn't. Itachi wanted you alone, and so I was forced to leave the village, while you watched your parents die.

Do you remember me,Sasuke?
