Pitter-patter
Went the rain
When our paths crossed
When my naive heart
Impulsively overrode my brain

Footsteps pitter-pattered
As I fell for your wonder
While we danced
Under the beautiful cloudy sky
As you tore my walls asunder

Then the pitter-pattering drizzle
Became a battering rain
Fate declared that our
Rainy-day romance was meant
To break under the strain

Pitter-pattering footsteps
Were accompanied by
The banging of a door
You left in a hurry
You left with an unspoken goodbye

And even until now
Pitter-patter goes the rain
Just like the tears
I keep on shedding
For you in vain
