Holly and I sat in the library reading short stories when she asked,"Whats that door over there?".

"That goes to the file room in Sister Gloria's office. It has all the kids information in there, like who there parents were, why they are here, stuff like that."

"Let's go in there and look for our files.", Holly jumped up with excitement.

"Holly, no I don't want to get in trouble with the nuns, they already hate me enough.", I resounded.

"What makes you think they hate you? What did you do to make them hate you?", Holly questioned me.

"I'm not really sure, it could just be because I lie and steal."

"Well don't you want to know for sure, maybe there is something you don't know about yourself. Plus I want to know why I keep getting put back in shelters and orphanages.", Holly lectured me as she turned to go to the file room.

I followed her watching her hair bounce as she walked. She jiggled the doorknob hoping it would open, which it did.

"This is such a efficient establishment.", she said sarcastically, giggling.

We walked into the file room, searching for the light switch. It was pitch black, until I flicked the light on. There were about twelve file cabinets that were more dusty than the bookshelves in the library. I think I actually saw some cobwebs too.

I looked in the "M" drawer for Morgan. I found my file but I didn't open it until we found Holly's.

"I can't find mine.", Holly said.

"Did you look in the right drawer? "W" right?", I said back at Holly.

"Yup.", she answered.

"Well you just arrived today, so it could still be on Sister Gloria's desk."

"So let's go get it.", Holly said as she turned to the other door that enters to the office.

"What if she's in there I said".

"She will still be at the assembly, we will just go grab it quick." Holly expressed.

She opened the door, no one was there.

"Come on Johnny.", she giggled.

I slowly came in behind her, and searched the desktop for Holly's file.

"Found it!", she said joyously.

We went back to the library to shut off all the lights, and headed back to the auditorium so no one would know we left. Crouching in our seats we started to read our files. What we had just read was going to change our lives for the worst.
