Chapter Seven

After many parties over many weeks the paladins had gone through all of their parties and were back to missions, and even though the war was over there was still much to be done.

"Okay we need someone to go with Pidge on a stealth mission to rescue an important planetary peace maker that was recently captured." Shiro briefed the team on the mission. "Any takers?" Shiro tapped his foot.

"I'll go." Lance shoved Pidge. The team sent the two on their way. Their trip was short but quiet, when they landed Pidge hacked into the cameras and alarms to shut them off, she was successful of course (best hackerr evr duh). As the two snuck through the ship dimly lit with purple lights. Reaching a forked hallway Pidge used a digital map, waved her hand to the right, leading the way to the prison cells.

"I don't feel right just saving one." Pidge sighed.

"Well when all the pow pow pow's and the pew pew pew's are over, everyone gets back to their normal lives." Lance said wrapping his arms around her, kissing the top of her head. Pidge smiled at the boy and they returned to checking each cell for the diplomat. They found the strange alien man panicking and whimpering in the corner of his cell. Pidge ended up hacking into the door so they wouldn't make noise, but just after they explained themselves to Xurcor, the diplomat (zurcore), calming him down, red lights started flashing and the alarm rang through the halls. "I thought you hacked everything!" Lance yelled.

"I did, they must've added extra measures for this guy." She replied panicked, as a group of sentries ran toward them. The three of them ran back down the twisting halls, the sentries gaining on them, Lance was pushing Xurcor forward to ensure his safety, but Pidge was lacking behind. As Lance pushed Xurcor into the lion, he heard a blast, then a groan. Fearing the worst he spun around to find Pidge on the floor holding her side. Out of rage Lance grabbed his Bayard and rapid fired at anything that moved. Once he was sure they were all down for the count he ran to the aching girls side. "Oh mother of quiznack I'm so sorry!" He whimpered, his voice cracking. He moved her hand from her wound. "Oh god it's bleeding so much," tears started streaming down his cheeks. "Pidge oh god this is all my fault." Pidge grunted again.

"La-" she was cut off by a cough forcing its way out of her throat. "It's not y-" she feel unconscious halfway through her sentence. Lance scooped her up, running her to green. He sat in the pilots chair, Pidge in his lap.

"Okay green I know I'm not your pilot but we really need to get Pidge to the castle," he gulped "please." He whispered staring at the girl resting in his arms, suddenly the ship powered on, the lion roared and it abruptly zoomed through space. They soon made it to the castle, the rest of the paladins went to greet the newly returned lion, not expecting what they saw. Pidge was slung over Lance's shoulder, and before the team could ask what happened Lance rushed past them down the hallway as fast as he could trying to get to the healing pods.

"Lance what happened!" Shiro yelled out to him starting down the hall.

"Pidge needs to get to a healing pod now, then I can explain!" He yelled back. Shiro caught up to him panting.

"Lance you jostling her around on your shoulder could be making whatever it is worse!" Shiro exclaimed making the boy come to a stop. He moved Pidge from his shoulder to cradling her in his arms. Revealing the open wound, gushing blood. Shiro was left mortified as Lance again started running down the hall, finally getting her to the healing pods, putting her into the nearest one. Luckily Coran was there doing repairs so he could activate everything. Lance leaned on the pod, sliding down onto the floor as he put his head in his hands.

(Yeah I know I said I would be updating more but the season six came out and I started reading tons of fanfics again and I'm sorry, the morning I finished this I woke up from a weird ass dream where the team and Shay for some reason snuck into a galra ship and all went into canoes and Lance and pidge went into one and it was spooky as fuq cuz they were hoop and then they were babies playing with dragons and it freaked me out wc:691)
