It was late, well for the paladin's sleep schedule, when Lance was awoken by a waft of freezing air and a gasp. When his heavy eyes finally looked up he saw what he was waiting for all this time, Pidge. Now in the dim room, only lit by her now opened healing chamber. She was dazed but she was all healed, Lance stood up in disbelief. As he took slow steps toward her he stopped a quarter of the way and began tearing up. He had missed her so much and feared her life had ended, with so much more he wanted to experience with her. He would miss her too much, getting lost in his thoughts of losing her. Pidge had only just now noticed him silently crying and beholding her. As she tiptoed toward him, he jolted forward wrapping his arms around her.

"Lance?" she softly spoke as he literally, cried on her shoulder. He only tightened his cradle, not speaking a word. The only thing that escaped his mouth were small sobs. "Seriously, you're kinda freaking me out. Whats wrong?"

"I-I jus-st." he got cut off by his own sobbing, and slowly rose his head off of her shoulder. "I was scared I lost you... And that it was all my fault." He explained through sniffles and weeping.

"What are you talking about? It was in no way your fault." Pidge said sternly but trying to comfort him at the same time.

"If I was more careful, if I had been protecting you, even if I had noticed you were lagging behind a second sooner this would never have happened." He moved his hands down her back and onto her side, rubbing the shot wound. This made Pidge wince a bit, Lance recoiled. "I'm so sorry! I just..."

"Lance it's fine, the wound is just a little raw. As for the other stuff, we're in a war I probably would've gotten hurt on the next mission I went on that's just how this works. I'm just... glad you were there." She said her voice sinking and her face turning pink. Fearing he would see her blush she immediately averted her gaze toward her feet. Lance just hugged her closer, laying his head on top of hers. There they stood just enjoying each other's warmth until the door opened moments later.

(HA HA CLIFFHANGER it's not anything special but I mean it's whatever.)
