-Chapter 27-

-Amy-

"This is amazing." I take another bite of the steak but the mashed potatoes are the really champions here. This place was a great suggestion because it's delicious and everyone is digging in.

My sister is busy talking to Matt about his business and other random things so I decide to just eat as much as I can and not look like a pig, but that's really hard for me to do right now.

"Slow down, darling." Oliver warns me and I put up a hand to contain my laughter.

"It's so good though!" I've only had a limited amount of meals that've been like this. I want to enjoy it as much as I possibly can.

Oliver grins and shakes his head and starts eating his samon platter with vegetables. That also looks really nice, but I'm not a huge seafood fan. I do enjoy it from time to time but I prefer something different with a hearty protein.

Suddenly, Nora gets up and excuses herself to go to the restroom and even though I don't want to leave my food unattended I decide this a perfect time to get the details from her so I excuse myself as well and I follow her.

She passes between a couple leaving and a waiter collecting glasses on his tray and I try my best to squeeze by as well. She opens the wooden door first and enters and I do the same. Her high-heels start clicking on the tiled floor. She stands in front of the mirror and starts flattening out her maroon dress on the sides and then fixing her red curls.

"Boo." I step forward to stand beside her and I pull back a few of my own curls.

"What is it?" She taps her nails on the counter and turns towards me.

"So...Do you like Matt?" I cross my arms over my chest, hoping for the best.

"Yeah, he's nice."

I was hoping for a better answer and one that was more in depth, but I guess that'll have to do. My sister never gives anything away that quickly anyways, I'm not surprised at all actually. I do think she likes Matt though. That is a good sign.

I nod and I start to head back to the table.

"Oh, by the way I think you like your steak more than Oliver right now sis." Nora jokes and I roll my eyes.

Maybe just a little.

I wink at her and I head back to the table. It's good to hang out with my sister like this again. It's been far too long. I pat down my dress and rub my arms as I make the journey back to the table and I feel hot under the glowing lights around us.

This place really is beautiful too.

All of the tables are dressed in white and silver. There's potted vinery plantes everywhere, which adds a nice touch of flaire. The few windows they have are decorated in pretty black curtains too. The place is elegant and something I'd never be able to afford to eat at, especially now that I'm unemployed. I feel bad now knowing Oliver and Matt will have to shovel out the money. I can't let them treat us like this anymore.

Oliver Garden would've been fine...

I try not to think about it because I don't want the boys to think something is up. I smile at Oliver when he looks up from his samon and I sit down beside him. Matt looks over at me desperately.
