Checking my wallet…. 216 pesos. Cool. The other hundred pesos were yesterday. Syempre, tipid tipid din pag may time. LOL K.
“Hop in.” I raised my head and looked at my cousin, ready to take off with his motorcycle.
“Si Harleigh nalang isabay mo. She’s on the way here.” I said, putting my wallet back on my bag.
“Alam mo pinsang baliw, imbis na maka-tipid ka, inuuna mo yang kaartehan mo. Girls, seriously. Bakit di nyo ba matanggal sa sistema nyo yan?” He said.
“May sarili akong paraan para makatipid. At ayokong mamatay dahil sa pagtitipid.” “Sinong maarte?” I added, looking at him deadly.
“You.” He said. I kicked the wheel again and I have to admit, masakit. Shit.
“Yeah keep doing that. Sasalubungin ko nalang si Leigh sa daan. Umalis ka dyan.” My impaktong pinsan said. So harsh. I wanna kill him.
“Masisira din yang motor mo! Hudas ka talaga!” I shouted at him and I don’t think he heard me. Ang bilis nyang magpatakbo kasi. Bwiset.
On my way, may nakasalubong akong tatlong jejemon. Tapos yung isa nakatingin sakin. Well, di naman ako nakatingin sa kanila directly, nakikita ko lang sila in my peripheral view. Yung isa naman sinasabayan yung kumakanta. And they were smiling sheepily. What the hell?
Wag tayong assuming sister.
I continued to walk until may makakasalubong naman akong matandang naka-bike. And I could see him looking at me like there’s no tomorrow. What’s wrong? Did the heaven made a mistake and gave me an instant appeal?
I grabbed my phone and looked at myself through it. Pwede kayang salamin s3 ko. Bleh. Anyway, wala namang unusual sa mukha ko. Maayos din naman ang ponytail ko. Eh bakit? Ganun parin naman mukha ko, nothing special, nothing to look at. Normal as ever. Baket? Trip nila? Tsk.
Walking and still confused….
Until a very mascular scented jacket embraced from my back. I looked over my shoulder to see who it was and something kicked from my insides the moment I saw a handsome, smiling, Ardi.
“Hi.” He said, all smiles while he walked beside me.
“Hi yourself.” I replied while taking off his jacket, but his hands stopped me from doing so.
I looked at him, forehead creased with lines, lips forming a confusing look.
“Don’t ever think of taking this off.” He whispered and added, “Talaga bang di ka nagsasando o nakalimutan mo lang? Kahapon naman meron, so I assume nakalimutan mo lang.”Then he looked at me smiling.
I felt my face warming and I didn’t even raise my head again. I feel so small, well, I am small, but I feel so humiliated. And I wore a black laced bra today!
“It’s ok. Don’t be embarrassed! It was worth looking at.” He said then laughed.
Because what he said irritates me, I then grabbed his collar, causing his jacket fall off and made him look at my chest.
“Yes?” He said, now looking at my face, smiling like a hoodlum.
Wrong move, I released him and grabbed his jacket on the ground and put in on.
“Pervert!” I said not looking at him.
He just laughed. Stupid.
“Wag mong sabihing magko-commute ka din?” I suddenly asked.
“Hinde, maglalakad lang ako.” He said. I looked at him disbelievingly. Ok. Now that’s his joke. Funny? Nah.
“Push mo yan.” Is the only thing I can say, though I know he’s joking about it.
“Wala kasi akong pera. Libre mo ko pamasahe orange.”
“Bakit di mo gamitin yung motor mo?”
“Pamasahe nga wala, pang-gas pa kaya?” He said and I looked at him, making face. Jesus, that looks cute on him.
“Tapon mo na yung motor mo. Walang kwenta.” I said and I accelerated my pace, leaving him behind a little.
He catched up and said, “Lilibre mo nga ko?”
I just looked at him sharply then he pouted. MyGod! Stop doing that or I’ll… I’ll… get pissed off more!
“Sama mo naman. I gave you a free ride last night remember? Kung di dahil saken, baka hanggang ngayon, andun ka pa sa library.”
“Osige. Pag-iisipan ko pa.”
He laughed and said, “Iba talaga sa kadamutan ang kyatkyat.”
“Ano?” I said
“Kyat-kyat. Tawag sa maliliit na orange.” He said and laughs.
“Pauso mo.” I just said, walking a bit faster than before. He can still catch up. Maybe because of how big his steps are.
He was still there, beside me, teasing me like there’s no tomorrow, and I can hear my own heartbeat every now and then.
What?
I am walking faster, and I have to slow down. Yeah. That must be it.
