Meadowpaw padded over to the bramble tunnel. She was going with Leopard and that tom who looked with hopeful eyes. Also his mentor. Meadowpaw learned his name was Buckpaw. His mentor was Birdsong. Birdsong and Leopard padded ahead while Buckpaw and Meadowpaw stayed behind. They went to a big, hollow tree trunk with sand for a floor. Buckpaw raced in and said to Meadowpaw "Im 6 and a half moons old! How about you?" Meadowpaw then said "Im almost 7 moons!" Buckpaw was bigger than her though, by less than half a mouse tail. Meadowpaw and Buckpaw practiced for what seemed like moons. Then when it was time to return to camp, Meadowpaw grabbed a plump vole and brought it to the elders, Smalltail and Mousepelt. They thanked her and she padded over to Buckpaw and he said "Want to share some fresh-kill?" Meadowpaw replied blushing "Sure! A vole?" Buckpaw said "Yes! I'll get it!" Meadowpaw padded over into the bushes and dug a small hole in the ground and lay in it too cool down and she then heard a rustle and Buckpaw padded in and set down the vole. Then they ate and padded into the apprentices den. It was empty because they were the only apprentices.
