"Where did he go?! WHERE DID YOU GO!" Jacks shouted at him.
"Well I was out looking for you! Until Dracks all of a sudden pushes me through a wall and ran away!" Defended Matthew.
"Dracks pushed you through a wall?! LIAR! You pushed my brother through the wall!" His brows furrowed.
"Guys-" "HE'S LYING!" Barked Jacks, who had interrupted Teresa. His finger accusingly pointed at Matthew. Said man was dumbfounded and confused.
"What the hell!? How could you believe that liar Jacks!" He called him out. His gaze turned to venomously glare daggers at Dracks, who was calm and still.
"Sort out your bloody Kerfuffle!" Teresa stated in an unladylike way. I swear to god, she sounded like some Victorian woman who had too many bookcases up her ass.
Jacks grumbled, Matthew groaned exaggeratedly,Dracks was...being Dracks.
I felt quite...confident in myself and like I just stole an entire sack of gold and got away with it.
That was, until I heard a painful hiss and a scream of agony.
I felt a shiver go down my spine, my face going pale.
"M-MATTHEW!" I recognised that as Teresa's voice that had yelled out.
To our horror, a glop of white goo had burned through Matthew's clothes and into his translucent skin.
It was like watching fire scorch paper, or ice that had melted from heat.
"MATTHEW!" Teresa repeated, as she rushed to him. All of a sudden, Matthew had released frightening scream. It rung through my ears, and so happened to send Teresa herself into a pale, unmovable shock.
Dracks went and grabbed her wrist, and tugged her as far from Matthew as possible.Jacks of course, followed his brother.
Or at least, the horrific sight of him being slowly disintegrated.
I was too late to realise that the white slime had came from the ceiling above us.
In an unnatural blur of speed, it had seeped through the floorboards of the floor above us and had taken most of Matthew's upper half.
The sight it had given me was probably the thing from nightmares. I hoped this was an actual one.
"R-RUN!" Teresa sobbed aloud, as she watched the massive, currently-devouring-Mattthew beast slowly melt and feed from our friend.
Dracks stared at her, as if she had done a math problem of two plus two equals five.
She shook her head, as if to rid water from her hair, and took both of Dracks and Jacks' wrists. Then, she took off in a dash.
I flew to follow her, after I had realised there was no hope for Matthew now,
In my power, I would have definitely taken aback all the insults and accusations and rude comments about him. I would have tried to be nicer.
"Enough regretting!" I yelled at myself in my mind."Look to the damn future and try to get out of here- wait!"
An idea struck through my mind in instant. I can not believe I did not think of this before!
"TERESA!" I called out to her. My pace quickened, so I could be able to catch up more closely with her.
"Not now Peter! We need to escape from that...Vermin!" She yelled to me.
I could hear the cracks in her voice. Apparently so did Dracks, since I could read from his concerned expression when he turned to face me as he was dragged.
Jacks had tried to escape from the blue broad. I could tell from the way he squirmed and tried to pull away from her.
It felt like more than twelve hours had passed once we had stopped.
Just by the look of everyone's faces, they were as fatigued as me;if not, more than me.
"Cheese on rice!" Huffed Jacks, as he purposely fell to the ground and hovered just above it.
"You could say that again." I sighed in an exasperated way.
"Cheese on rice!" He repeated, which caused me to chuckle and lose breath. I was not the only one to give into the entertainment, Dracks quietly chuckled with me. I could see the expression on Jacks face that he was proud of his efforts.
The only one not have laughed was Teresa, who just stood still like a mannequin made out of porcelain.
The recollection of events that was stuck in my already scarred brain knew what was wrong with her.
I floated to her, and wrapped an arm over her shoulders. She jumped slightly, as if she had just got shot by a gun.
"Hey...it's ok! It's me, Peter." I tried to have comforted her. My lips tugged into a warm, meaningful smile.
"Right....I know," she sighed loudly."Anyway, what was calling my name for?" Her brow quirked upwards.
"OoOoOh~"Jacks giggled, and wrapped an arm around Dracks and pointed a finger at us. Dracks was confused, and had the look of a man who had walked into a female restroom.
"I didn't know having to get so pumped up with adrenaline could make ya-" "That's enough, brother." Dracks saved the entire group that did not involve Jacks from an awkward moment.
Jacks huffed a little more, and retracted his arm just to fold it over the other in a sassy way.
"So, what really did you mean?" Teresa smiled at me back.
"Well uh- why don't we just get out of the mansion?" I reasonably suggested.
"We can't." Dracks simply stated. His expression returned back to the emotionless straight line.
"Why not?" I questioned further, with my brows furrowing.
"We just can't,Peter." Teresa's own colour faded grimly.
This was not enough. Not the answer I had expected for. This is not acceptable!
Just as my hand bawled into fists, a hand clapped onto my shoulder.
"Hey Petey, we should just rest a lil'." Jacks smiled at me. I realised he had floated slightly to match my height. "I'll watch for you! You just sleep and rest ya head."
It comforted me to know that I was cared for, all I could do was nod and lay down onto the ground.
Soon, my world faded to black.
