"Now now, we don't need a puppy fight. If we're going to fight like this, we may as well fight like warriors!" Amber had encouraged us.
As if on cue, faithful Teresa had entered the room, along with Dracks.
"Fighting? What are you lot doing?" Giggled Teresa, as her brow was raised. Her smile was heavenly, like a mother that had returned to her child after years of search.Dracks had simply grunted,as if in agreement with her question.
"What we're doing is finding out what Petey is doing, ain't I right? Right Amber?" Jacks had answered the question and looked up at Amber for any clarifications or anything that was equal to an agreement.
"Correct, and if we need his answer we'll just tear it right out of him." Amber had grinned at me, her and her sinister grin. I had betted she wanted to kill me! For heavens sake, we're already dead woman!
"No." A voice that rarely ever spoke, or just spoke in short sentences, had just said "no". Dracks' voice was deep, serious and stern, as if everything he said was matter of fact or statement of actual information.
"Yeah, death isn't necessary! We're dead anyway. We'd have a...ghost of a chance?" Teresa joked, but was actually quite informative. She had cackled from her own humour, Jacks howled with laughter with her.
"Dear god, I hope I don't seriously double die," I had tiredly groaned in my inner thoughts, as I eye rolled at the both of them.
"What were you doing, Peter?" Dracks had emphasised the "you" part of his sentence, loudening his voice. That was what made me feel more minor than him, just from his voice.
"I-I was just looking!" I had haste in my speech, due to the fact the interrogation and that Dracks of all people had added into the,"What wast Peter doing?" inquiry.
"Sure?" Amber, who also was included in this, rose a brow at me. Her movements towards me made me back away, quite uncomfortable with how everyone in the room was practically ganging up on me.It was like being an omega in a pack, being ratted out for supposedly being born wrong.
"Hey, we're not here to hurt you." Teresa smiled at me again, which had given warmth my heart. Her smile was short though, for her lips tugged down into a hurt frown.
"I think he's not lyin', I think." Jacks had made a soft hum of questioning, in which he had his own brow raised while his hand held up his chin up. It was as if he was thinking.
"Uh." Another one? God, why did Matthew have to come now! I would've probably killed myself, from all the embarrassment that was thoroughly crushing me at the moment.
"What's goin' on?" Matthew had piped up, in which Jacks had answered him."What's going on is that Mr.Oh so mysterious was snooping around, probably trying to find somethin'!" Jacks huffed, as well as crossed his arms and pouted like a child.
"Spit it out!" Commanded Amber, her voice booming like that of a lion's growl.
"We should settle down, give him time to come clean." Suggested a probably really anxious and concerned Teresa.
"I agree with Teresa, it's no help that he's being chewed out as well as being backed into a corner." Matthew shook his head, ashamed with the group of interrogators.
"Thank god that Matthew and Teresa is saving my ass!" I silently thanked in my head, taking much consideration of their useful comfortsof reassurance that they were there for me.
"My god! I already said, I was simply looking around! Who are those people in the painting, anyway?" I retorted with another question, since I had cleared my name of suspicion.
Amber had rolled her eyes.Jacks looked away like a dog that had been shamed.Dracks was as emotionless as ever.Teresa looked at me with her mouth agape, as if she wanted to say something.
Matthew was the only one who had actually spoken."Well, they're uh...really, really pretty pictures of Teresa's um,paintings?" He awkwardly laughed.
"Oh for fuck's sake Matty, he's obviously not gunna fall for that!" Hissed Jacks, puffing his cheeks out in frustration.
"Just tell him the truth already-" "Jacks, shut up!" Amber had practically yelled at Jacks, a look of that of a child who hoped their lie had work was evident on her expression.
"Fine! We'll tell him later!"Jacks whined. Dracks had floated over to his twin, patting his hair as a gesture of "Please calm down".
I was so conflicted in who to trust now. It was if I was on my own now, no longer part of the ensemble.
"Well,I believe we should just, settle down,"Teresa suggested, as she shrugged her shoulders.
"I agree fully with Teresa," Matthew sighed, before he had turned himself to Teresa and gave her a meaningful grin.
I had to admit, I was a bit jealous at the two. They had more time together than me, meaning they'd have a better chance of becoming lovers.
"They're probably already dating," I sorrowfully thought, crossing my arms.
"If you need me, I'll be with Amber!" Jacks had returned back to his gleeful, go-lucky self. He followed and clung onto one of Ambers' bulging, humongous biceps.
"I'll be in the kitchen," yawned Matthew, as he stretched out his arms and floated off.
"I'll stay with Peter," Teresa claimed, earning a giggle from Jacks.
Dracks was as silent as ever, floating off and away somewhere.
"I'll be in the court." Amber began to float away with Jacks in tow.
"Jeeze, what a time. It was so short as well!" I groaned,as my eyes rolled and my back slouched.
"Don't worry, they'll warm up to ya."Teresa tried to comfort me, floating over and hanging an arm around my shoulders. Her actions were what caused my face to have heated up.
"I hope they do," I mumbled, looking away from Teresa and to a wall opposite from her direction.
