.backstory.
Carmen doesn't have a terribly normal childhood even though he's a pretty average guy now. It started okay in a way, though his mom was at fault for marrying an ex criminal and starting a family with the impression he had 'really changed'. He hadn't. And after three little boys, he decided his peaceful, poor life as a regular citizen wasn't enough for him. When Carmen was just five years old the man upped and left, a few of his friends helping him rob their house before he would disappear in the middle of the night. Unfortunately Carmen had always been a light sleeper and went to ask why his dad was sneaking around. Chaos in the situation erupted and after the entire family awoke it ended in Peters friend taking Carmen captive. Taking his own son captive, Carmen's dad tried to run away planning on just letting him go. Unfortunately for him the police were far more interested in saving the child and with these high stakes and Carmen's tendency to get himself both out of things and to talk loudly, he was saved. He didn't totally make it though, when he's almost escaped on his own and ended up smashing his cheek onto the concrete on the ground resulting in a scar he likes to make up stories about. Recalling the incident still makes him a little paranoid, but years later he sometimes visits his father in prison and forgives him more than his mom ever could. (I have all the details don't worry)

.personality.
Though thoroughly extroverted and almost flamboyant most people don't mistake Carmen for as gay as he actually is. He's extremely loud, likes to be the center of attention and making people laugh by something clever he's said (which doesn't usually happen tbh). He's a bit of a dork, and oftentimes finds himself overcompensating or going over the top with his antics and jokes. In fact, his ADHD makes some people call him obnoxious or rude. But in actuality he's quite a down to earth person, who will sacrifice his spotlight in order to make someone feel better or talk them through a problem. He's pretty good with people even though he's admittedly even though he's got a big mouth. He cares about people deeply and would do anything not to upset someone or make them turn away from him.
