Lord Morgan (Kate's Dad) POV

That Night

Kate has been acting strange ever since she returned from the library. Maybe I was too harsh with her the other day. I've been trying to find a way to make it up to her. All I want is for my little girl to be safe, and I know that revealing her disability would only hurt her.

I'm so lost in thought that I don't hear Sasha come in.

"Sir," he says softly. I nearly jump.

"Sasha, I didn't hear you come in."

"I came with question."

"Alright," I say, turning away from the window in my study and taking a seat in my chair. "How can I help you?"

"It is Katelyn. I want to take her to dinner." Sasha shrugs. "She be unhappy lately. I change that."

I slowly nod my head. "I see no reason why not. Where will you be taking her?"

"I know not." He looks at his watch. "It is time for medicine." He turns to leave, but I stop him.

"Is the medicine helping her?"

He is quiet. "Is hard to tell." He doesn't say another word as he leaves, closing the door behind him.

That's what I was afraid of. The doctor said that the medicine might not help. Maybe, just maybe, he can find something else that will. Then again, I don't think medical science has progressed that far in only five years. But who knows? Maybe something will change.

Kate's POV

The next Saturday Morning

It's been over a week since I saw the prince. Somehow Sasha convinced my father to let me go tonight. I'm beginning to think Sasha wants to make me miserable.

"Katelyn," he says as he checks my blood pressure and pulse. "Too much stress bad. Relax."

"Easy for you to say," I mumble.

"Listen, tonight good night. We eat. We dance. We have fun."

I resist the urge to roll my eyes. "You might have fun, but I'll be sitting next to the prince. What if I mess everything up?"

"What is to mess up? I see you eat many foods. Nothing to go wrong." He sighs. "I know. You worried, yes? No reason to be. You beautiful like icy tundra."

"Thank you," is all I can reply. Sasha is like a second dad to me, and I'm not sure I would be able to do anything without him. He finishes checking my vital signs before handing me my medicine. He always makes sure I take it, because when the doctor first gave it to me, I would throw it away if given the chance. After he's finished doing all the medical stuff nurses do, he leaves. I'm left alone until I have to start getting ready for the dinner party.

Wilfred's POV

Later that Morning in the Castle

I am an idiot. Before I left Lord Michael's, he asked me to give Katelyn a letter. He said it was urgent, but I forgot to give it to her last week when I saw her. I only remembered the letter earlier this morning. I had left the letter on my dresser table, and it caught my eye as I straightened my tie. Well, I guess I could give it to her tonight.

Tonight. I can't believe she's coming. I never thought in my wildest dreams she'd be coming; I thought she'd cancel on me. I'm truly grateful. As hard as I try, I can't explain it. I just feel this connection to her. It might be because for so long I thought that we'd get married, but I still can't get her out of my head all these years later. Some part of me wants to make her see that I'm not such a bad guy. Maybe we could go on a date; maybe we could become something more.
