Sherlock P.O.V I lost track of my attacker until I heard two gunshots. I quickly ran back to Lizzie, John & Soo Lin. I found Soo Lin dead on her desk but John tending to Lizzie. My heart began to beat erratically as I saw her shallow breaths.
"Is she.." I began to ask
"No just unconscious. But, she needs hospital for the bullet & head wounds. I already called it in. They'll be here in a few minutes. Just keep her still as I get the bullet out." John replied before pulling a small medical kit out
I gently rolled her on her stomach & shone the flashlight on the bullet wound. John grabbed some tweezers & fished around for the bullet. She only mildly groaned & bit her fist from the pain. John quickly got the bullet & dressed the wound. The paramedics came in shortly & took her away. John & I followed her to the hospital where we were asked for family. John gave the information & we waited in the waiting room. After a couple hours, the doctor came back to inform us of her condition, just as the Andersons came running in.
"You bloody psycho! If she dies, its your fault." Phil screamed as his mother held him back
"Philip, enough! This won't help your sister. Now lets hear what the doctor has to say." Mrs. Anderson reprimanded him
"Mr & Mrs. Anderson, thanks to her friends, your daughter will be fine. I would like to keep her in observation for a few days. Give her time for her body to heal. My nurse can take you all to see her." The doctor said before leaving
"Thank you both for helping our daughter. We're in your debt." Mr. Anderson said as he held his hand out. Phil scoffed but was quickly scolded by their mother.
"Your daughter is a fine...friend & co-worker. She would have done the same for us." I replied as we shook hands. "We'll visit her later. I need a chat with the inspector."
I angrily went to the inspector with our information. He dismissed me & John led me away before I could say more. We went back to the flat where Lukis & Van Coons books were delivered. After an entire night, I couldn't find the same book they owned. While John went to work, I went to visit Lizzie.
"You look dreadful." I commented from the doorway
"Better than you. Working yourselves to death?" She asked as I sat down
"There's our girl. The normal grind but I'm close. Get well soon." I said before taking my leave
"Lukis & Van Coon were smugglers. Their killer was an acrobat. Wouldn't hurt to check for a recently arrived chinese circus?" Lizzie hinted with a big grin
Lizzie P.O.V After two days, I was finally released. John came to pick me up & got dating advice from Sherlock once we stepped into the flat. I went to rest in my flat & called Jim. He was worried for me but calmed down once he heard that I was okay. He tried to make plans but was cut off by Sherlock. Tonight, we were going to investigate the circus.
The circus wasn't for another few hours. Sherlock wanted to get there early so I had an hour to get ready. I decided to treat myself to a nice hot bath. Sherlock wanted me close just in case so I used Johns bathroom. I grabbed my clothes & makeup from my flat while Sherlock played the violin. After 40mins, I was ready to go & went down to the living room.
"About time, why do you..." sherlock teased me before looking up
