Jughead's POV
"Calm down Toni. Everything will be fine since we probably won't be the only new kids at Northside High," I said to my best friend Toni Topaz.
"What if we get harassed or bullied for transferring from the southside?" Toni asked worried.
"We won't. Trust me," I reassured her. "You wanna get some milkshakes?"
Toni's worried expression melted into a smile. Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe has the best milkshakes in all of Riverdale and is my favorite place to be at. We got on my motorcycle and drove off to Pop's. Once I entered I noticed a booth with three friends. A blonde girl, a raven-haired princess, and the luckiest red-headed boy in the universe. I paid no attention to them them and ordered the usual: a strawberry milkshake and a cookie dough milkshake. Once we got our milkshakes, sat in a booth, and took the first sip, it felt like all our worries disappeared. To be honest I was worried as hell. I was worried about the life I left on the northside once I moved to the southside. 8 years ago my dad got arrested which forced me to move to the southside. I had to leave behind my best friends Veronica, Betty, Archie, and Kevin behind and start over on a whole different side of town. My dad recently got released and my best friend Toni and I are moving over to the northside. So much has changed since 2nd grade. Will my old friends remember me? If they do how will they judge me? So many questions will be answered tomorrow morning. I decided to try and enjoy my last day of summer and my strawberry milkshake.
Veronica's POV
Where was Kevin? He was never late unless he had a good reason. Archie, Betty, and I sat there drinking our milkshakes waiting for Kevin when a raven-haired boy and a short pink-haired girl walk through the door. There was something about him that was giving me serious Rebel Without a Cause vibes. I felt like I knew him from somewhere but I couldn't pin point where. Suddenly my eyes immediately darted to their jackets. I realized they were serpents and I looked down to avoid all eye contact possible with them. It was getting late and I wondered where Kevin was. As the girl and boy left, Kevin bolted through the door. As he sat down with us, catching his breath he said, "I just got *pant* the latest news."
I was fascinated. "Jughead Jones is coming back," Kevin managed to get out. My eyes widened. Jughead Jones. I have not heard that name in years. Archie burst out laughing. "That's old news to me. I already known that for weeks," Archie said giggling.
"What how?" Betty asked.
"Me and Jug hang out every week. That's how," Archie said looking somewhat proud of himself for knowing news before Kevin could.
All our jaws dropped. We were all suprised by Archie. Kevin usually knows everything first since everybody comes to him when they need to spill out all their emotions and secrets. But how did Kevin know if Archie didn't tell him. "Kevin, how did you know Jughead is coming if Archie didn't tell you?" I asked.
Kevin stuttered quickly saying, " I have a boyfriend named Joaquin who is a serpent and Jughead is kinda the serpent king and Joaquin kinda told me everything and how Jughead, this girl named Toni, and him are all transferring to Riverdale High".
We all sat there stunned by what we all just heard. I then realized that the two serpents who entered were Jughead and Toni. We sat in silence for what seemed like ten hours. The first person something was Betty. "We can't associate with them. They are serpents. They are criminals."
"Woah Betty, did you forgot I am dating one," Kevin said angered. I've never seen Kevin angry before since he is a chill guy so Betty has definitely said something wrong. Kevin stormed off and then we all just dissolved.
