Bloated
“It’s quick and simple.”
“No, I’m not doing it.”
“Why not?”
“I refuse to get in trouble because you were so irresponsible. You should have done that 2 a week ago when the rest of us were already there.”
Nate sighed heavily followed by an annoying groan. We as in me, Siri, and Nate were sitting on in Nate’s living room floor. Well, I was on the floor. Nate was on the coffee table and Siri was sitting on the couch. We were facing each other in some weird triangular shape. As of now, Nate’s future was possibly going to be spent in jail. He wants to break an entry.
“I can’t just do it on my own. C’mon you guys! What happened to the three musketeers?” he asked in such desperation that I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“To be honest, I’m more of a snickers type of girl,” Siri said humorously.
“I need to know if I left it in school though. It means a lot to me.”
At this point I was biting my nails. It was such a terrible habit but I always bite them to the point where I’m biting off my skin and they begin to bleed. I bite them when I’m either watching my shows and I can’t hold in my anticipation or because I was thinking too much. Nate’s diary is missing. For anyone who doesn’t know this, Nate has had this diary since he was 6. Every week he would take a picture or object and tape or glue it into it and then write a summary about his entire week. Now the size of the diary was ridiculous. It looked like an encyclopedia except in a smaller size and it’s based off his entire childhood up until now. It’s been missing for about a week now and he’s been in complete panic mode. Apparently he refuses to go to college without it. So now he wants to break an entry at Lambert because he thinks he left it inside the library’s study hall.
“Nate, do you not hear yourself? You want to break into a school a week after it’s been closed to get some diary you were reckless with? Not to mention you want us to help,” Siri said rubbing her eyes clearly irritated.
“But one for all and all for one right?” he asked and did the puppy dog eyes.
For a guy, Nate had the puppy dog eyes perfected. I always fell for it and so did Cassie but Siri and Kat were always harder to crack.
“Nate, I’m sorry, I truly am but I refuse to get in trouble. I refuse. I am not going to jail right before college because you forgot your damn diary. I love you but honestly your diary isn’t worth jail time.”
Nate looked at me then and didn’t say a word. He still had on his mastered puppy dog eyes looked and I couldn’t help but stare at them. It was hilarious but I cracked. He broke me so quickly it wasn’t even funny.
“Fine, I’ll do it but if we do get caught, Siri you better bail me out. If you don’t, you’ll be first on my hit list,” I said.
While Nate was celebrating his newly found achievement, I was tying my hair up with a hair tie. My hair was long enough to reach almost half way down my back so in this heat it was a bother to leave it out. Siri let out a huge sigh and rubbed her forehead which looked like a gesture of pure annoyance.
“So when are we going to break into the school?” she asked rolling her eyes when Nate began to smile ridiculously hard at her. “Smile at me some more and I’ll back down.”
Just as fast as the smile appeared, it had vanished off his face. Nate had stood up and walked over to the huge bookshelf located on the opposite side of the couch right beside the T.V stand.
