Speak

Siri and I were sprawled out on my bed. She was head to headboard and I was head to end of the mattress. Something that frustrated me was how calm she handled everything. She rarely got mad or pissed or heartbroken but she also has those moments when she can't keep it in and she breaks down. Now was not one of those moments.

"Do you?" she asked nonchalantly pushing herself into a upwards position and leaning against the board.

She tucked her knees up to her chest and held them in place by wrapping her arms around them. Her burgundy red hair fell down her shoulders lazily and she stared at me waiting for my response. I closed my eyes tired but still full of energy.

"Do I what?"

She sucked her teeth and nudged my leg. "You know what. Do you like him? I mean you two have known each other for the longest and he's made it pretty clear that he likes you. What are you going to do about? Just leave him hanging?"

"It's not like I can love him back the way he loves me. I'm with Ethan and I have been for the past 4 years. C'mon Siri, where have you been all this time? You were the one who wanted me to date him in the first place."

"That is true but Nate basically confessed his love for you and you destroyed his hopes and dream with your crap. There's nothing I can say about that."

I groaned in annoyance and put my hands over my face rubbing. "There's more to it." None of this was supposed to happen.

Siri flipped her position completely lying flat on her belly right by my side. She narrowed her eyes at me. "What do you mean by 'there's more'?"

I flexed my hands a little then made a small gap between my fingers catching a glimpse of her facial expression before covering up my face again. I mumbled incoherently causing her to 'huh' me. My throat instantly went dry and I repeated myself this time loud and clear.

"I said we slept together."

I didn't look. I refused to look. I knew that her silence was a bad reaction so I protected my face and kept it covered. I was not risking absolutely anything. As I waited for an impact that never came, my mind thought through the many situations I just got myself in to. The ones I was currently afraid of was either her hitting me or screaming at me both potentially causing a scene forcing my parents to interfere and eventually finding out.

"You what?" she whispered and I squeezed my eyes shut.

Still, nothing happened. She did the one thing I didn't expect from her. She started talking to herself.at first I thought she was trying voo doo on my ass but then after hearing what she was saying, I came to a conclusion that she was possibly insane.

"Does Ethan know?" she asked in a very low and calm voice which sent shivers down my spine.

I shook my head and she sighed. "How the hell did you manage to sleep with him? Have you lost your damn mind M? You slept with your best friend whilst in a relationship."

"I don't know what to do Siri. I'm dying here," I whined.

"How did it even happen? I thought you said you two weren't speaking through the car ride. Am I missing something?"

I nodded. She waited. Things got pretty intense.

"I . . . He was going to drop me off. He did. I got out his truck and sat on my porch. He didn't bothering waiting to see me go inside because he pulled off as soon as I got out the car. It started to rain. I felt deserted and I just started walking."

I removed my hands from my face and looked at her. Disappointment flushed across her face and I felt guilty but nonetheless I continued.

"Somehow I ended up standing drenched in rain at his doorstep. I knocked a couple of times because the doorbell pisses me off. I had to have been standing there for a couple of minutes but he came to the eventually. As soon as he'd seen me, he was going to close the door but I guess thought twice about it because he never did. We didn't say anything just looked at each other. Next thing I know, we were in his bed doing things that . . ." I trailed off recalling what had happened exactly in my head.
