Chapter 4

A month had passed and in the office.

"Good Morning Ms. Davis!" Alva, the company reception happily greeted Sam.

"Good Morning! Where can I see Ms. Brown?" Sam politely asked Alva

"I will accompany you to her office and show you around as well," Alva said

They are now passing the operations, where employees are sitting on their workstations and answering calls from clients.

"This is the Operations, where you can see the area of the Quality Assurance Specialist and the employees. Trainers are on that side" Alva pointed at the other side of the floor.

"Wow! Everybody is on one floor. I can see everyone!" Sam said with a hint of excitement in her voice.

"Yes, Ms. Davis. That is why everyone knows who, hihi! But the management has a separate area. We will be entering that room." Alva giggled and pointed to a secured door on the corner.

"Just call me Sam. It's too formal if you call me by the last name. I believe you are all using first names here, am I right?"

"Yes Ms, Davis... I mean Sam.."

They passed the QA area and she saw Millie and waved at her.

"Oh you know Millie, she is one of our QA Specialists here," Alva mentioned.

"Yes, I know her. Hi Millie, how are you doing today?" Sam nicely asked.

"All good Ma'am. I heard that you are the new Operations Manager. Welcome to the company!" Millie said in a happy tone but not directly looking at Sam. Her eyes were wandering around. Seems like looking for something or someone.

"Thank you for the warm welcome. Well, I guess we better get going. I still need to talk to the big boss. See you around." Sam said to Millie and signaled to Alva to get going.

They reached a big wall with a secured door at the end of the hall. Alva opened the door using her security badge. They walked across a small table and some chairs and with some phones and laptops. I guess this is the conference area. Sam thought.

Alva knocked at the door on the left side and slightly opened it. "Good Morning Ms. Brown. Ms. Davis is already here." Alva politely said to Ms. Brown.

Sam entered the room and waved goodbye to Alva. Alva started walking after closing the door behind her. She went back to the reception area adjacent to the pantry.

Ms. Brown, the CEO, and Sam talked for an hour. Explaining to Sam her duties and responsibilities. Handing over all the things that she needed for her work.

Her office is just beside Ms. Brown's office.

She went to her office and checked what is still needed. She opened some folders and started working.

The day was easy and relax for Sam. It is more about getting to know the ins and out of the operations. Sam is a very smart and fast-learner she didn't have problems understanding everything she needed on her first day.

Lunchtime...

There was a knock on Sam's office. "Hi Sam, don't forget to eat. It's lunchtime. I had a business meeting outside so I cannot join you for your first lunch here but I'll see you again this afternoon, alright?" Isla said to Sam.

"Sure, Ms. Brown. Enjoy and good luck!"

"Just Isla, Sam." Isla smiled and closed the door.
