Chapter 12

It has been a month since their outing.

Sam was happy and enjoying again the company of her friends.

It was almost Christmas time. Sam is thinking about where will she celebrate it. Their company won't have any operations on the 24th to 25th so they have the time to enjoy the holiday.

On that day, Sam noticed that Jacob is nowhere. She asked their friends and found out that Jacob called in sick earlier. 

She immediately finished her reports so she can go to Jacob's quickly. She is very worried about her friend.

She didn't tell anyone that she will visit Jacob. She sent a message to Jacob and asked for direction. This will be the first time that she will go to his house. Jacob replied with detailed instructions. 

Sam did not expect that his house is very far from the office. It took her 2 hours and a half to arrive at the landmark that Jacob asked her to wait for him. He will pick her up.

She sent a message to Jacob and she saw him walking towards her. She immediately checks how he is. 

She thought that they will just walk, maybe his house is near the landmark. However, Jacob hailed a cab and they are on the road for another 20 minutes.

She was really surprised that Jacob is able to travel this long just to get to work and go home. 

When they arrived at Jacob's apartment, they settled down on the sofa which was next to a bed. 

"How are you feeling?" Sam asked

"I just had this fever since last night and I felt really cold and weak. I have taken some medicines already and starting to feel better."

"Good! Do you want to eat something? I will cook for us."

"Sure, make yourself at home," Jacob said while he looked for a movie that they can watch while Sam prepared for the food.

Sam cooked pasta and toasted some slices of bread and they devour as they watched the movie that Jacob played.

Jacob suddenly felt dizziness after minutes of watching, so she asked Sam that he would just lie down. 

Sam nodded and continue to watch the movie by herself. She was checking Jacob every now and then just to see how he was feeling.

Sam felt tired and her back was aching due to the long travel. 

She lied down on the sofa when  Jacob said"Lie down with me here, baby."

She obliged and lie down beside Jacob. 

Sam was facing the other way and Jacob was facing the other side of the bed.  

Suddenly, Sam was startled when Jacob put his arms around his waist. 

She can't move. She doesn't know if Jacob is awake or not. 

She did not move or even breathe and afraid to make a move. 

Jacob whispered something that she can't understand but she knows he is calling a name. 

Jacob started caressing her body from her waist. Sam was shocked that she froze and forgot to breathe.

Her mind was saying to stop him but she can't and she doesn't know. 

Jacob reached for hands and arms. He pulled them that made her move her body. Now she is facing Jacob's face.

Her breathing becomes heavier and heavier. There is something in her that want's to push Jacob and stand up but she can't and she cannot understand. She just closed her eyes and prepared herself for whatever's going to happen. 

Jacob was now mouthing some words that Sam still couldn't understand.

Sam holds her breath as she sees Jacob putting his lips to hers. She did not move a finger.

Their lips met and her eyes become wet. She can't let this happen. Not with Jacob and this is not what she likes. This is completely wrong.

She gently pushed Jacob and got up. She sat down on the sofa and drink some soda and lit up a cigar.

Shit! What is happening?! She asked herself. She looked at Jacob who was now awake. He was looking at Sam. 

"I am so sorry, Sam. I didn't mean to." Jacob said while getting out of the bed and slowly walking to the sofa. 

"It's okay. let's just not stay in one bed again." Sam said smiling while trying to release the awkwardness between them.

"Do you like ice cream?" Jacob asked. Sam nodded to show that she wants some.

They went out and buy some ice creams and some meat that they can cook later. 

"Will you stay under dinner?" Jacob asked while getting some spoons and glasses. 

"Do you want me?" Sam asked looking into Jacob's eyes. 

She was thinking about what had happened earlier. Why did she let that happened? She never liked boys. NEVER!

"Yes, I love you to stay here with me," Jacob said while scooping some ice cream.

"Okay will cook some steak later tonight." What are we going to do? It is still early. looking at her phone. It is only 5:30 in the afternoon.

"Movie? We weren't able to finish the move earlier." 

"Okay," Sam said while she played the movie on the screen.

They were watching and suddenly she felt hungry. She decided to head to the kitchen and started preparing to cook.

"Wow! I wish I can cook like you."

"Oh, I can teach next time because I am about to finish this one," Sam said smiling. 

They sat down in front of the TV and watched while eating. Once done, Jacob grabbed some beers and asked Sam to go with him on the roof.

They were sitting on the roof with beers and some food and just staring at the sky.

"You know Sam, if you straight and I am single, I would court you." 

"Really? Why?"

"You are very beautiful, nice, and accomplished." Jacob looked at Sam then smile.

They laughed and held hands while drinking. 

"You will forever be my baby, you know that," Jacob said then squeezed Sam's hand.

They spent more than 3 hours on the roof before Sam said that she needed to go home and have some work to do. 

"I hope we can do this again." She kissed Jacob goodbye.
