My eyes met with his. Shit, that girl was right. He was wearing a dark blue suit with a red tie. His hair was a dark brown and his face, pure perfection. He looked up from his computer and smiled. "You must be Margo, sit here please." He said pointing to the front seat, opposite his desk. I was lost for words, I didn't try to speak, and walked to my seat to sit down. As soon as I sat down he took off his blazer, put it on the back of his seat and rolled up his sleeves which showed his muscled forearms.
"I'm Mr. Corbins, your new maths teacher" As he said that he looked over at me and I could feel my cheeks heating. I must've been crimson because I saw his lips tug upwards into a smirk. "Today we're going to cover everything we will be learning in Year 10."
I didn't pay attention for the next 20 minutes and I know he noticed. He'd started looking at me more often during the lesson, probably to see if I was listening. "Margo, can you see me after class please?" He asked. I nodded and realised I haven't spoken at all. I would have to speak when I saw him after class. The lesson passed and the bell rang. "Alright, off you go." He said. I was about to grab my bag when I remembered that he was expecting me to stay. I sat back down and he waited for everyone to leave. Once everyone had gone he closed the door and walked slowly back over to his desk. He started looking through a pile of papers that were stacked beside the computer. He pulled out a sheet and skimmed over it before putting it on my desk. I looked at the sheet of paper and saw that it was the topics that we were going to be learning about this year.
"It's everything you weren't paying attention to." He said and smiled. I looked at him nervously still not saying a word. "You haven't spoken to me at all, why is that?" He looked at me.
"I-I just don't like...talking?" I'm such an idiot. "I mean...no, I like talking I'm just tired." I said, even more awkwardly. I covered my face with my hands and I heard him laugh. In that moment I wanted to disappear, I wanted the ground to swallow me hole. "Um...thanks but I have to go to my next lesson..." With that he nodded. I picked up the piece of paper and shoved it into my bag. The rest of the day went by and all I could think about was Mr. Corbin, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake him from my mind and I had no clue why. I heard other people in the corridors whispering about him and, to my surprise, people knew a lot about him. They knew what car he drove, how old he was and what house he was moving into.
I walked home and knew my parents weren't going to be there. I reached home and went straight to my room. I collapsed on the bed and took out my phone from my pocket, I unlocked it and turned on 'The Vampire Diaries'. I watched about 20 minutes before I heard a van outside. It's was loud and distracting so I decided to see what it was about. Across the road, not too far down, there was one of those moving vans and a dark blue Volkswagen was parked in the drive. The door opened and I squinted my eyes so I could see better. It was Mr. Corbins.
