Now, me and Noah were walking out of reception in a slightly painful silence that I tried to rid off by clearing my throat which only made things more tense. I picked at the edge of the DVD case racking my brain for something to say, but, nothing. Slowly, I reached for my phone in my pocket before Noah suddenly started speaking which made me yelp and drop my phone. Noah turned around, a mixture of both shock and amusement plastered on his face. I sighed and bent down to pick up my phone, trying to stifle the giggle that was catching in my throat.
"What just happened?" Noah snorted with laughter.
"You made me jump!" I defended.
Noah, however, just continued laughing as I pocketed my phone.
"Anyway," I began, "what were you trying to say?"
"Oh yeah." Said Noah, "I was just curious: why did you start doing dance?"
"Well, I don't know really?" I said.
"I don't accept that answer." He replied.
I stopped and looked at him.
"You confuse me." I laughed before continuing to walk.
"Seriously though." He urged.
"It's hard to say.. I mean- I don't remember a time where I didn't do dance."
"How long have you been doing it?"
"Five years."
"Cool." He said, nodding his head, " and what kind of dance do you do?"
"I do a bit of contemporary and-"
Noah interrupted me, "is that all the spinny-twirly stuff?"
I laughed.
"I wouldn't call that a definition but yes. Anyway, I also do quite a lot of Hip Hop as well."
"No way!" He said, looking at me in awe. "Does that mean you can do all the flips and stuff?!"
"No!" I laughed, "No nothing like that I mainly do a lot of old school stuff."
"You any good?" He asked, challenging my competitive side.
"You're only talking to a British Champion."
"That's awesome."
"Thank you.." I said, blushing.
And, before I knew it, we were back at the door of my room. I slid the key card into the handle and shivered as the wave of air conditioning hit my bare skin when the door opened. Hopping over to the Tv, I slid the disc out of the case and put it into the DVD player.
"Do you have snacks?" He asked, jumping backwards onto the bed.
"No I don't have snacks." I stated in hysteria.
"Pity."
"Well, it depends on whether you're prepared to pay for the mini bar snacks."
Noah looked at me in anticipation:
"Would your mum let you use the one in this room?"
"I highly doubt that."
"Well okay then." Noah said bouncing over to the door before opening his own room.
"Where are you going?!" I yelled.
I waited a few seconds but got no response.
Huffing, I leant against the back of the bed before, a couple of minutes later, Noah stumbled back into the room. Before I could protest, he dumped a pile of candy on the floor.
In complete confusion, I stared at him:
"Where did this come from?!"
"I remembered that I packed this."
"Okay.." I started, "and why would you carry around so much candy around with you on holiday?"
"I am an eight year old at heart."
"Well, aren't we all?"

We both sat with our backs against the end of the bed as the movie played. And, as I reached to take some snacks, I felt my fingers brush against Noah's and I snatched my hand back. My heart was racing for reasons that I couldn't comprehend. So I shook my head and slowly turned my head slightly to see Noah in my peripheral vision. He seemed normal, perfectly fine so I relaxed a bit. I was no longer focusing on the film as I tried to replay what just happened. Unfortunately, I couldn't help but cringe slightly at the cliché of it all. Internally, I shook my memory to try and forget what just happened and have a good time.

Eventually, the ending credits of the movie started to roll down the screen and I heaved myself up to a standing position. Stretching my arms out, I looked at Noah who was amusingly trying, and failing to get up.
"Do you need help?" I snorted with laughter.
"I can manage." He stated smugly.
"I'd believe you more if you didn't just fall over."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was around thirty minutes later and I was lying backwards on the rug whilst Noah moaned on the sofa above me. I sighed:
"What now?"
"Why did you let me eat all that candy?"
"Actually, I didn't."
"I am in too much agony for your sarcasm." He stated matter-of-factly.
He both sat in silence for a minute before I awkwardly picked at my nails which is a bad habit I have when I get nervous.
Noah looked down at me.
"So, where do you live?"
I rolled over and looked at him with a bemused expression on my face.
"I swear one day I'll get the hang of talking to you.."
"You didn't answer my question."
I jumped up and sat on the sofa next to him.
"Fine. I live in New York."
"What?!" Noah practically shouted, making me jump, "but I thought you were British?!"
"I am, but both my parents are British. I was born there as well and moved out to New York when I was three." I said, trying to contain my laughter at his surprise.
"Ah. I see."
I giggled at his confusion and he gave me a strange look.
"What?" I said, worried there was something on my face.
"I didn't know you could laugh."
"What are you talking about I've been laughing all night?" Blushing slightly at the realisation of what I just said.
"Yes, but you didn't sound like a walrus just now."
I gasped and jumped up from the sofa, despising that mischievous grin on his face. Before he could react, I grabbed one of the plush pillows from the corner of the sofa and whacked him on the shoulder. I shrieked with laughter as I watched the shock build up in his eyes. I wiped a tear from my eye and we went silent for a second before Noah said:
"See? Just like a walrus."
And in that moment, we collapsed into a bundle of pillow fights and... well.. attacking each other.
However, when both us were completely worn out I leant back onto the sofa still giggling.
Noah looked at me and said:
"Actually I was trying to explain - before I was ambushed - that I like your laugh, even when you sound like a walrus."
"Why.. thank you." I breathed, still trying to catch my breath. I turned to look at him and could feel the shock in both of us when I realised we were only inches apart.
