^^ literally the cutest thing I am shooketh.
Anyway, back to the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was slightly shocked as I realised that Noah wasn't pulling away from me, nor was he moving closer. We were just kind of.. staring.. at each other. And, as awkward as this was, a part of me didn't want to move away. Scary.
Suddenly, I heard the door click and I shot to the other side of the sofa in a matter of milliseconds. Also, to my dismay, Noah seemed to find all of this very amusing. My mum smiled at us:
"Have a good time?"
"Very." Noah replied, with slightly too much enthusiasm in his voice.
My mum raised an eyebrow but simply shrugged and went back to hanging up her clothes. When I knew she was fully facing the other way, I gave Noah a mild, yet brutal punch in the forearm. He jumped and stared at me as if so was crazy. I whispered at him:
"What did you do that for?!"
"Do what?!" He said, raising his hands above himself.
"Well.. What does 'very' mean?!"
Noah paused for a second, considering something before shrugging and grinning slightly:
"I don't know.. just a joke?"
"Oh." I replied. "Okay."
A mixture of both hurt and relief stung in my chest; was he glad nothing else happened? Was he just playing it cool? I pushed away my sub conscious before grinning, desperate for things to go back to the way they were before.
Luckily, Noah played along and it was almost like it was before anything happened. However, ever since my hand touched his, a spark of butterflies have swarmed my stomach and no matter how much I tried, I doubted they were going away any time soon.
The next day I woke in a bundle of soft duvet and bed sheets. I slowly turned my head to face the other way, smiling slightly as I remembered the events of last night. And, grudgingly, I opened my eyes to see Noah in the bed next to me, just looking at me with a tiny smile planted on his face. Suddenly, his eyes rapidly averted elsewhere and I couldn't help but grin at the deep shade of crimson that was forming on his face.
"Something keeping you up?" I teased.
"W-what? No! Just.. um.. I couldn't get back to sleep!" Noah stuttered.
I was enlightened by the stuttering mess that was now Noah Schnapp and found myself thinking it was adorable. Confused, I turned to stare up at the ceiling. What was going on? Why did I suddenly have these weird thoughts? Back home, I would never, never, never think about a boy this way! Maybe I was sleep-deprived. Wait, that makes no sense. My mental battle was interrupted by the sudden force of Noah climbing in next to me.
"What are you doing?!" I shriek.
"It was cold in there!" He protested. "And I got lonely."
I sighed and shook my head at his mood swings. I could sense him looking at me again so I tried to melt the tension:
"How about we play truth or dare?" I suggested.
Noah grinned and sat up slightly.
"Alright. You go first."
"Okay," I began, " Noah, truth or dare?"
"Hmmmm.." He pondered. "Truth."
Too tired to function, I just went with the most obvious truth question there is:
"Do you like anyone?!" I asked, wiggling my eyebrows comically.
He laughed slightly before rubbing the back of his neck:
"I don't know? Maybe?"
"Seriously?!" I protested. "That's not an answer."
"Fine!" He sighed. "Yes. Yes, I think I do."
I nodded my head slowly, racking my brain for who he could be thinking of.
"Anyway," he interrupted, "I believe it is your turn?"
"I believe it is."
"Okay, truth or dare?"
For me, this was an obvious answer:
"Dare."
Noah thought for a second before his face lit up and he turned to me. I could almost see how confused I must have looked.
"What?"
Oh god, he had that mischievous glint in his eye again:
"I dare you... to hug me."
"Seriously?" I said, "that's it?"
However, inside, the thought of hugging Noah sent shivers down my spine.
"Unless you're too much of a coward."
"No chance." I said, challenging him.
"Then prove it." He grinned opening his arms.
I took a silent deep breath before wrapping my arms around his shoulders. I was ready to pull away but a force - I don't know what - kept me there for at least ten more seconds before I felt him shift. Snapping back to reality, I unfurled from him. However, not before he pinned me down and started tickling me ferociously.
"Noah!!" I screeched in hilarity.
"You really thought it would be that easy??" He chuckled.
"You're... such a.... jerk." I yelled between hiccups of laughter.
Finally though, Noah freed me from his wrath.
    "What was that for?!" I shrieked, my chest aching from laughter.
    "Why not?"
    "Because now I'm in pain." I fake-complained, rolling over and hugging my arm.
    I grinned into the pillow as I could almost feel the cogs turning in his brain.
    "Izzie?..." He asked, his voice riddled with genuine concern.
   "Izzie?" He asked again sounding slightly more frantic.
    I felt the smile slide of my face slightly and I felt quite guilty; he was clearly getting mortified and I was deciding on whether or not to cave in.
    "Oh my god are you okay?!" He practically screamed, shaking my shoulder.
    I whipped my head around, grinning from laughter. However, my face fell when I saw tears pricking his eyeline.
    "Noah?.... Are you.. crying?" I said, becoming upset.
    Realising I was okay, Noah hurriedly wipes his eyes with his sleeve:
    "What?" He retorted, "No!"
     But, I would have believed him more if another tear didn't slip down his face.
    I sat up, mortified and put my head in my hands:
    "I feel so bad!"
    Noah composed himself.
    "What? No! Don't feel bad!" He said patting my back.
     I put my head up, embarrassed that I had started to cry from guilt.
    "Oh god Izzie I'm so sorry!" Noah said laughing slightly.
    "Ah." I cringed, wiping my eyes.
    "Sorry for being a wimp." He chuckled.
    "You're not a wimp."
    He tilted his head in a jokey way as if to say 'I kind of am though.'
    "Well," I said, "if you're a wimp then I'll be a wimp with you."
    He laughed before pulling me in for a hug.
    "The last 12 hours have been a bit strange haven't they?" He laughed a quiet laugh.
    "Just a bit of a rollercoaster."
    "There have been tears, laughs and also attacks."
    I snorted with laughter before slapping my forehead at the monstrosity that just came out of my mouth.
    I looked at Noah, "oh god you're right."
    "What do you mean?" He replied, confused.
    "I do sound like an animal."
    Noah collapsed into the pillow howling in laughter. After a few minutes he re-emerged and sighed, still giggling slightly.
    "I think it's safe to say I'm going to have to fix this." I sighed, shaking my head.
    "No!" Noah practically yelled. "I love your walrus laugh."
    I looked at him with a smile and he grinned back at me. Damn it. Back came those butterflies in my stomach.
    That's when the realisation hit me like a ton of bricks.
    Oh my god. I think I'm falling for Noah Schnapp.
